THEDI recently participated in the Baseline Survey Needs Assessment in Gombe State coordinated by ISDAO focusing on community gatekeepers across the state.

This assessment is a critical step in understanding the needs, gaps and realities facing communities at the grassroots level with the goal of ensuring that every intervention, every program and every resource deployed is grounded in accurate, community-driven data.

THEDI is grateful to ISDAO for coordinating this important exercise and for keeping communities at the very centre of every decision.

The data gathered will strengthen the foundation of a more responsive, targeted and impactful community intervention across Gombe State.

Strengthening data, strengthens the response.

THEDI is proud to be part of the Second Round of the National HIV/AIDS Data Abstraction Exercise coordinated by the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) across all 36 States and the FCT.

From 3rd — 6th August 2026, THEDI joined Batch A states in this critical exercise — retrospectively capturing and uploading community HIV programme data for January to June 2026 onto the national eNNRIMs-DHIS platform.

Because accurate, reliable and timely data is not just numbers on a screen — it is the foundation of every life-saving decision made in Nigeria’s HIV/AIDS response.

When data is strong, the response is stronger. And THEDI is committed to ensuring that the communities we serve are never invisible in the numbers that shape national policy.

Grateful to NACA for this continued investment in strengthening community and facility level data systems across Nigeria.

Capacity built. Skills sharpened. Communities protected.

THEDI recently participated in a powerful 4-Day Residential Training on the Minimum Prevention Package of Interventions (MPPI) and Prevention Intervention Tracking Tools (PITT) for Adolescents and Young People (AYP) facilitated by IHVN through SFH.

Four days of intensive, practical and deeply impactful learning, all centered on strengthening our capacity to deliver targeted, evidence-based HIV prevention interventions for adolescents and young people across our communities.

Growth in capacity equals growth in our impact. And the communities we serve deserve nothing less than our absolute best.

A heartfelt appreciation to IHVN and SFH for hosting such a well-structured and impactful training. To every facilitator, participant and stakeholder who brought their knowledge, energy and commitment into that room, thank you. Every conversation, every session and every shared experience made us better equipped to serve. 🤝🏾🙌🏾

We at THEDI condemn in the strongest possible terms the inhumane, brutal and unlawful torture and beating that led to the death of Jos based model Ibrahim Pilasar Mbaya aka Ibee.

Ibee was wrongfully accused of stealing a phone. He was not given the opportunity to defend himself. He was not handed over to the appropriate authorities for proper investigation. He was not treated as what every Nigerian citizen is ; innocent until proven guilty.
Instead he was subjected to a level of cruelty that no human being — guilty or innocent — should ever experience. He was beaten. He was tortured. Ruthlessly. Mercilessly. And as a result of that brutal and unlawful act lost his life.

A life that mattered.
A son. A creative. A model. A human being with dignity, dreams and an inalienable right to live.

THEDI unequivocally condemns this act in its entirety.

No accusation — no matter how serious — gives any individual, group or community the right to torture, assault or take the life of another human being. The law is clear. The constitution is clear. And our collective humanity demands better.

Every Nigerian accused or not, is innocent until proven guilty. Every suspect deserves to be handed to the relevant authorities for proper investigation. No accusation gives anyone the right to torture or take a life.

We are demanding justice for Ibee. Full. Complete. Uncompromising.

What was done to Ibee is not justice. It is not discipline. It is not community protection. It is jungle justice. And jungle justice is murder.

To everyone reading this, we must do better. We must be better. A society that takes justice into its own hands is a society that has abandoned the very foundation of humanity and law.

Taking healthcare where it is needed most.

THEDI was proudly part of a landmark public health outreach on Tuesday 28th July 2026 — joining the State AIDS, STIs and Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (SASCP) and NASP to commemorate World Hepatitis Day at the Gombe Correctional Centre.

Because vulnerability does not disqualify anyone from the right to quality healthcare. Every life — regardless of where it is lived — deserves access, dignity and care.

During the outreach inmates and correctional staff receivedHealth education and sensitization on viral Hepatitis, Free Hepatitis B and C screening, Hepatitis B vaccination for eligible participants as well as Counseling, linkage to care and referral for further treatment.

THEDI remains unwavering in its commitment to reaching the most vulnerable — in every community, in every space and behind every wall. 💚

Grateful to SASCP, NASP and the Nigerian Correctional Service Gombe State Command for making this possible. 🙌🏾
