ELEVEN(11) DAYS POST MOU
Our dear friends, greetings!
We thank you for your understanding and support during the period of industrial disharmony between our noble association and the government that lasted for more than three (3) months. As painful as this action was, we had to take that path to enable us serve you better.
We sympathize with all those who couldn’t assess quality healthcare and those who lost their lives in the course of the strike action. May their souls rest in peace.
We thank our members for standing resolute in demanding for what is their due and what is beneficial not just to themselves but patients and entire healthcare system. In as much as we hate to travel down that path, experience has taught us that it is the only thing that draws the attention of the government and general public to the dilapidated health care system. Hence we encourage you to keep your armory nearby and not get weary of picking it up when necessary.
We thank the hospital management, the board chairman, the honorable commissioners for health/human
Services and Finance, the SSG, the NC caucus of NARD, the entire NARD family for the peaceful resolution of the situation and signing of an MOU.
It is now 11 days post MOU signed between ARD BSUTH and the Benue state government. It is only reasonable that we keep you updated about the stage of implementation of the MOU.
1) PAYMENT OF WITHHELD JANUARY SALARIES within 72 hours of suspension of strike- though, the 72 hours timeline has been breached by the hospital management, implementation is still ongoing due to continuous dialogue between the EXCO and management. It is regrettable that not all residents have been paid their January entitlement.
2) WITHDRAWAL OF HOSTILE CIRCULARS- this has not been done as agreed.
3) 18 MONTHS CONMESS ARREARS- negotiations still ongoing.
4). RENOVATION OF DOCTORS’ QUARTERS- yet to commence .
5) ENTRY LEVEL OF CONMESS 3/5 -negotiations still ongoing.
Thank you for your understanding and support always.
ARD BSUTH
