DO YOU KNOW?
- Around 500 million people globally face period poverty, lacking access to basic menstrual supplies.
- 1 in 10 African girls miss school during their menstrual cycle due to lack of access to sanitary products.
- In Nigeria, many young girls in rural communities use unsafe materials like rags, tissues, or leaves to manage their periods.
This challenge leads to illiteracy, low self-esteem, absenteeism from school, health challenges and a cycle of poverty which is hard to break.

But here's the good news: QUEEN FAVOUR MIKADO FOUNDATION is bridging the gap by providing free sanitary pads and comprehensive enlightenment and training on menstrual hygiene practice with this timely project themed: PAD A GIRL CHILD INITIATIVE.

This December, the PAD A GIRL CHILD INITIATIVE aims to: Distribute free sanitary pads to over 1,000 young girls in rural communities, provide education and training on menstrual hygiene to empower girls and combat stigma, support these vulnerable girls in regaining their confidence, health, and uninterrupted education.

Let’s create a world where menstruation is no longer a barrier to education and self-esteem. Join us in breaking this cycle of _period poverty._ Every contribution brings hope, dignity, opportunity, brighter and more equitable future to our young girls.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
- DONATE: Your contribution, no matter how little, can make a huge impact and will help provide a girl with the dignity and confidence she deserves.
-₦1,000 provides sanitary pads for one girl for a month.
-Larger contributions can help us expand the project and reach even more girls.

Queen Mikado Foundation duly registered by the CORPORATE AFFAIRS COMMISSION of Nigeria with Queen Favour Mikado, Rita Mikado and Deborah Mikado duly appointed as trustees.

The aim of this foundation is to:
1. assist the poor and less privileged
2. provide assistance to orphanage homes and disabled children in the society
3.promote unity and socio-cultural values amongst members

We are very open/happy to collaborate with other already existing agencies, foundations and organizations whose goals align with ours.
