The training adopted a highly practical and participatory approach, including demonstrations, hands-on exercises, peer learning, group work, experience sharing, and action planning. This approach is designed not only to equip WDSC members with useful livelihood skills, but also to enable them to cascade the knowledge and skills to other members within their respective wards.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen WDSCs as agents of community development, capable of identifying local economic opportunities, promoting sustainable livelihoods, engaging private sector actors, and supporting inclusive socio-economic development within their communities.
With the knowledge and practical skills gained, the 50 trained WDSC members are expected to serve as local champions and contribute to expanding livelihood opportunities across the ten wards of Kwaya Kusar LGA.
Skills for today. Opportunities for tomorrow. Stronger communities for the future.
