STRATEGIC STAKEHOLDER PLANNING MEETING FOR THE 2026 INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY CELEBRATION – ADAMAWA STATE

PAGED Foundation, as Co-Lead of the Peace Building and Social Cohesion Sector, Adamawa State, and Co-Chair of the Central Planning Committee for the 2026 International Peace Day (IPD) Celebration, continues to support inclusive peacebuilding, social cohesion, conflict prevention and multi-stakeholder collaboration across the State.

In furtherance of this commitment, Comrade Suleiman A. Abubakar, representing PAGED Foundation in his capacity as Interim Co-Lead of the Peace Building and Social Cohesion Sector and Co-Chair of the Central Planning Committee, co-chaired a strategic stakeholder planning meeting with members of the Central Planning Committee, representatives of security agencies, and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) operating in Adamawa State.

The meeting provided an important platform for stakeholders to:

• Strengthen coordination and collaboration
• Clarify roles and responsibilities
• Identify strategic priorities and potential challenges
• Strengthen security and operational coordination
• Promote meaningful community participation and youth engagement
• Advance disability inclusion and gender-responsive peacebuilding
• Support conflict prevention, early warning and early response
• Plan for a safe, inclusive, participatory and impactful 2026 International Peace Day celebration

Following extensive deliberations, stakeholders reaffirmed their collective commitment to work together to ensure that the 2026 International Peace Day Celebration is organised in a professional, coordinated and inclusive manner, while creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue, peace education, reflection, community engagement and the promotion of social cohesion.

The meeting further highlighted the importance of collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, CSOs, NGOs, traditional and religious institutions, development and humanitarian partners, youth groups, women-led organisations, persons with disabilities and other relevant stakeholders in strengthening a sustainable culture of peace across Adamawa State.

As Co-Lead of the Peace Building and Social Cohesion Sector, PAGED Foundation remains committed to strengthening collective action for peace, inclusion, protection, dignity and sustainable solutions.

The 2026 International Peace Day Celebration is more than an event—it is an opportunity to bring diverse stakeholders together around a shared vision of a peaceful, inclusive, resilient and socially cohesive Adamawa State, where every individual and community can contribute to and benefit from sustainable peace.

PAGED Foundation is proud to contribute its institutional experience, partnerships and commitment to this collective process and looks forward to continued collaboration with all stakeholders as preparations advance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

PAGED Foundation is seeking two committed and community-oriented individuals to support community-based protection and durable-solutions activities in Mubi South.

The volunteers will support:

* Community mobilization and engagement
* Protection monitoring and identification of concerns
* Safe referral and follow-up
* Awareness and information sharing
* Community feedback and complaints mechanisms
* Monitoring, documentation and simple reporting
* Inclusion of IDPs, returnees, women, children and persons with disabilities

WHO CAN APPLY?

Applicants should have:

* Minimum of SSCE or equivalent
* Good knowledge of the local community and language
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Basic reading, writing and reporting skills
* Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding and PSEA
* Experience in community work, humanitarian activities, volunteering or protection is an advantage

STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS FOR PEACE, PROTECTION & COMMUNITY RESILIENCE

As part of our continued efforts to strengthen partnerships, collaboration, synergy and coordination with community gatekeepers and key stakeholders in Adamawa State, Paragon Action on Gender and Disabilities (PAGED Foundation) paid familiarization visits to the District Head (Hakimin Nassarawo) of Mubi South Local Government Area and the Mubi South Division of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Adamawa State Command.

The engagements provided an opportunity to introduce PAGED Foundation, strengthen institutional relationships, exchange perspectives, and explore opportunities for joint action, community protection, peacebuilding, social cohesion, inclusion and sustainable solutions.

We remain committed to working closely with traditional institutions, security agencies, government authorities, communities and other relevant stakeholders towards building safer, more inclusive, peaceful and resilient communities across Adamawa State.
