ROAF in partnership with thrivis successfully conducted a community sensitization and awareness campaign on the prevention of human trafficking in Wulari Community and the Wulari IDPs Camp, Maiduguri.

Conflict and displacement have significantly increased the vulnerability of internally displaced persons and host communities to trafficking, exploitation, and other forms of abuse.

Through this initiative, we empowered community members with knowledge on how to recognize trafficking risks, protect themselves, report suspicious activities, and strengthen their resilience against exploitation.

Together, we reached 5,120 people, including 1,620 individuals in the Wulari IDPs Camp 3,500 members of the Wulari host community.

At ROAF, we remain committed to protecting vulnerable populations, promoting human dignity, and building safer, more resilient communities where everyone can live free from exploitation.

Yesterday, ROAF, in partnership with Nkamson Charity Foundation, conducted a community-based sensitization and awareness campaign on sustainable waste management and durable environmental solutions under the Eco-Champion of Tomorrow – Phase II project in Wulari Jerusalem, Maiduguri.

The campaign reached approximately 2,400 community members, equipping them with practical knowledge on proper waste management, plastic and farm waste recycling, upcycling, and the Waste-to-Wealth initiative. Participants were encouraged to view waste not as a burden, but as a valuable resource that can create livelihoods, protect the environment, and contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more climate-resilient community.

Together, we are inspiring environmental stewardship, promoting green entrepreneurship, and empowering communities to become champions of sustainable development.

Project Launch: Eco-Champion of Tomorrow – Phase II

ROAF, in partnership with Nkamson Charity Foundation, is proud to launch the Eco-Champion of Tomorrow – Phase II project, an initiative designed to promote environmental sustainability while creating economic opportunities for vulnerable communities.

The project focuses on raising awareness and building practical skills in sustainable waste management, with emphasis on the best practices for upcycling and recycling plastic and farm waste. Through hands-on training and community engagement, participants will learn how to transform waste into valuable products that protect the environment and generate income.

By empowering young people and female-headed households with green business and entrepreneurship skills, the project aims to foster climate resilience, reduce environmental pollution, and promote sustainable livelihoods. Together, we are proving that waste is not waste until it is wasted—it can become an opportunity for innovation, income, and a greener future.
