πŸπŸ„ Building Resilient Livelihoods through Livestock Health and Nutrition! 🌿

Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation proudly continues to empower rural women and youth through practical, climate-smart approaches that strengthen food security, animal health, and sustainable livelihoods in conflict-affected communities of Jere and Mafa LGAs, Borno State.

As part of our ongoing Farmers Field School Program, Wazobia conducted a Livestock Routine Vaccination and Mineral Lick Awareness Session β€” bringing together women and youth livestock keepers for hands-on demonstrations on animal healthcare, feeding standards, and productivity improvement.

πŸ’‰ Key Highlights of the Session:
βœ… Routine Vaccination & Mineral Lick Checks – Farmers learned the importance of regular animal vaccination and mineral supplementation for goats, sheep, and milking cows to prevent disease outbreaks, improve fertility, and boost milk yield.
🌾 Enhanced Feed Quality & Balanced Nutrition – The training emphasized locally sourced, climate-smart feed formulation techniques that meet the full dietary requirements for growth, fattening, and high-quality milk production.
πŸ’ͺ Empowering Youths & Women Farmers – The session provided women and youth with technical knowledge to manage livestock more efficiently, reduce losses, and build profitable, sustainable agro-enterprises.

This initiative forms part of Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation’s Livelihood and Food Security Response Mechanism, designed to restore dignity, enhance income opportunities, and promote nutrition-sensitive agriculture among returnee, displaced, and host communities in Northeast Nigeria.

🌍 At Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation, we believe that healthy animals mean healthier families and stronger communities. By integrating livestock health, feed innovation, and women-led agribusiness, we’re shaping the future of sustainable food systems in Borno State and beyond.

🀝 We welcome collaboration with development partners, donors, and agricultural value chain actors who share our vision of resilient, food-secure communities through livestock development and youth empowerment.

🌿🐐 Empowering Livelihoods through Climate-Smart Livestock Farming! 🌾

Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation proudly continues its mission to strengthen resilience, restore dignity, and promote sustainable livelihoods across conflict-affected communities in Borno State.

Through our Free Livestock Goat Training Program, Wazobia has supported 14 widows, returnees, and youth from Jere and Mafa LGAs to begin small-scale goat rearing β€” each starting with 3 healthy female goats and 1 strong breeding buck. Within 6–7 months, these herds are expected to grow into 8–10 goats, creating a reliable source of income and nutrition for participating households. 🐐✨

In addition, Wazobia is advancing Climate-Smart Livestock Training on Sustainable Feed Formulation, equipping participants with practical knowledge on locally sourced feed production, fodder conservation, and adaptive livestock management practices. This initiative reduces feed costs, improves animal health, and builds long-term resilience against the impacts of climate change. 🌱

By integrating climate-smart innovations with hands-on training, Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation is helping vulnerable households β€” especially widows, returnees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) β€” transition from dependency to self-sufficiency. Participants are not just raising goats; they are building thriving, sustainable enterprises that contribute to the local livestock value chain and community food security.

πŸ’ͺ Together, we are nurturing a new generation of resilient livestock farmers β€” empowered with skills, knowledge, and hope.

🀝 Join us in supporting this transformative journey toward sustainable livelihoods, resilience, and food system recovery in Northeast Nigeria.

🌾✨ Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation – Seeds of Resilience! ✨🌾

We’re proud to announce the successful first batch harvest of our improved sorghum varieties under the Wazobia Farmers Field School! 🌱πŸ’ͺ

These short-stalk, fast-maturing sorghum varieties have yielded excellent results in less than 60 days, demonstrating high resistance to pests and diseases β€” a major breakthrough for smallholder farmers in conflict-affected and climate-stressed areas. πŸŒπŸ’š

Beyond their impressive performance, these improved varieties offer a sustainable solution for food security β€” especially in areas facing restricted mobility and security challenges, where traditional crops are harder to maintain.

At Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation, we are not just harvesting sorghum β€”
we are harvesting seeds of resilience, innovation, and hope for communities striving to rebuild their livelihoods. 🌾🀝

With continued support from our partners and donors, we remain committed to promoting climate-smart agriculture, local adaptation, and sustainable food systems that empower farmers to thrive, even in adversity. 🌱🌍

🌾✨ Wazobia Farmers Field School Update – Sorghum Fruiting Stage! ✨🌾

At Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation, we celebrate every milestone in the farming journeyβ€”and today, we highlight a crucial one: the fruiting stage of sorghum. 🌱🌞

🌟 During this stage, the sorghum plant develops its grain heads, signaling the promise of a nutritious harvest and a strong livelihood opportunity for our farmers. With proper care and guidance, this stage determines both yield quality and market value.

πŸ’‘ Best Practices at Fruiting Stage:
βœ”οΈ Ensure adequate water supply for grain filling πŸ’§
βœ”οΈ Apply timely pest and disease control πŸ›πŸŒΏ
βœ”οΈ Maintain soil nutrients with organic or recommended fertilizers 🌱
βœ”οΈ Regular field monitoring to spot early stress signs πŸ”

For our Farmers Field School members, this is more than a crop stageβ€”it’s a pathway to resilience, food security, and income stability. πŸ’ͺ🌍

πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸŒΎπŸ‘¨πŸΎβ€πŸŒΎ With continuous training and support, Wazobia Humanitarian Foundation is empowering farmers to adopt climate-smart practices that guarantee sustainable harvests even in challenging conditions.

πŸ“’ To our esteemed partners and donors: your support fuels this transformation. Together, we are not just growing sorghumβ€”we are growing hope, livelihoods, and stronger communities. ❀️🀝
