✨ Empowering Young Women: A Success Story from YOSSRA! ✨

We're bursting with pride to share the amazing results of our Hair Cream and Shampoo Production Training held at Amina Ahmad Bello Girls Arabic Secondary School (AABGSS), Sokoto, on May 7, 2025!
At YOSSRA, our goal is to ignite self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment right from the classroom. Through practical, step-by-step sessions, these incredible young women learned everything from raw materials to packaging for hair cream and shampoo. The enthusiasm was contagious, and the impact is clear:
* Practical Skills Acquired: Every single participant can now independently produce these products!
* Entrepreneurial Mindset: Many students are already envisioning their own small businesses.
* Increased Confidence: Witnessing their ability to create tangible products truly boosted their self-belief.
It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and the powerful realization of their potential – with pure success and eager participation!
What's next? We're excited to provide follow-up support, expand these vital programs to more schools, diversify our training, and seek partnerships for micro-loans and market access for our talented trainees.
A huge thank you to the dedicated students of AABGSS and special gratitude to Principal Hajiya Shafaatu Balarabe for her invaluable support! YOSSRA remains committed to fostering sustainable development among Nigerian youth. Let's build a brighter future together!

**A New Dawn for 100 Women in Sokoto!**

At Youth Support for Skills Acquisition and Self-Reliance, we believe in the power of practical skills to transform lives. That's why we were so proud to host a vital training program on **January 1, 2024**, at **Tarbiyatul Aulad Academy in Mabera, Sokoto**!

We trained **100 women eager for new opportunities** in the art of producing high-demand household and personal care products, including:
* **Vaseline**
* **Hair Cream**
* **Body Spray**
* *Shampoo**
* **Liquid Soap**

It was an incredible day of learning and empowerment! These women are now on their path to **self-sufficiency**, ready to launch their own ventures and contribute to their communities.

We're immensely grateful to everyone who supports our mission. Let's continue to champion initiatives that build a stronger, more self-reliant future!

We're thrilled to share highlights from our Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) and Self-Reliance Capacity Building Training held on May 12, 2025, at the Neyif Office in Sokoto! Organized by Youth Support for Skills Acquisition and Self Reliance (YOSSRA) with fantastic support from NEYIF, this one-day intensive program equipped young people with vital skills for peacebuilding and economic independence.
Participants gained deep insights into several crucial areas: understanding violent extremism, developing conflict resolution strategies, exploring pathways to self-reliance (including self-assessment and time management!), and recognizing their crucial role in promoting peace in Sokoto South. The energy and commitment from the youth were truly inspiring! We believe these skills will make a significant impact in building a more peaceful and prosperous Sokoto South.
A huge thank you goes out to our incredible facilitators, Ibrahim Musa Maishanu (ED) and Saudatu Ibrahim Balarabe (HR), all the executives of YOSSRA, and the entire NEYIF team for their invaluable support!

Youth Support for Skills Acquisition and Self Reliance was honored to participate in the impactful Civil-Military Relations meeting organized by (North East Youth Initiative for Development) in Sokoto South on June 21st, 2025.
It was inspiring to be part of discussions focused on fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between civilians and security personnel. We shared our insights on how crucial skills acquisition and self-reliance programs are in empowering young individuals and communities, ultimately contributing to a more peaceful and resilient Sokoto State.
We're excited to continue our efforts and partnerships that drive positive change on the ground!
