It's okay to be offended, but it's not okay to not let go. It's terrible and toxic for a believer to hold unto offense for too long. Even to hold on for more than one hour, it's too long.
Forgiveness must be our practical virtue.
We must master forgiveness just like we master skills. No offense is too hurt to look away from. None, to be frank.
It is when we conform to the world and refuse to renew our heart by the word of God, that we see letting go as a big deal.
Fogive that brother or sister. When next you see him/her, act like nothing ever happened. It is not pretense. It is the attitude of a Christ-like individual.
Yes, just like Christ, He was aware that the soldiers and his accusers were wrong in killing Him, yet He forgave them all.
You may say that, you are not Jesus. But can I shock you? It is the spirit of this age, the spirit of darkness that is whispering such into your ears and hearts. The Spirit of Christ preached practical forgiveness.
Jesus gave us a formula. 70x7 forgiveness per day.
If love must be practical, forgiveness must be a practice.
