A COUNTRY IS DEVELOPED OR DESTROYED BY ITS PEOPLE.

A King called for a village feast and commanded that each villager in his domain came with a gourd of palm-wine and pour it in a giant pot at the entrance of the village which everyone would eventually drink from. When it was time to drink from the pot, everyone was surprised that it was water that was in the pot.

Why should they be surprised?

Apparently, everyone came with a gourd of water instead of palm-wine thinking that since it was one jug of water, it wouldn't be noticed.

The King pointed this fact out and the whole village was ashamed.

Society is the sum of US together not just leadership.

_Lessons:_

1. We are all drinking from what we contributed as a society.

2. Never think your actions are insignificant. Take personal responsibility... Maybe, just maybe, you'd inspire some others to take their own responsibilities seriously and would have more 'palm-wine' than 'water' in our society.

3. Stop complaining about the problems and what others are doing and be part of the solution in your country, family, church/mosque, street etc...

Copied.

10 new BVN rules you must know before May 1st

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has outlined 10 key changes to the Bank Verification Number (BVN) system, which will take effect from May 1, as part of renewed efforts to curb fraud and strengthen digital banking processes.

The 10 key changes include:

1. Mobile banking apps will be restricted to one device at a time.

2. Logging in on a new device will automatically log out the previous device.

3. Switching devices will require additional verification before access is granted.

4. Suspicious BVNs will be placed on a 24-hour watchlist.

5. Banks may temporarily restrict or freeze accounts linked to flagged BVNs.

6. Customers can only change their BVN-linked phone number once.

7. The rule targets SIM-swap fraud and unauthorised access.

8. Only individuals aged 18 and above can enrol for a BVN.

9. Minors must operate accounts under a guardian.

10. Transactions on newly activated devices will be capped at โ‚ฆ20,000 within the first 24 hours.

The CBN emphasised that the new rules are designed to enhance security and protect customers from rising digital fraud risks.

A TRIBUTE TO SERVICE, LEGACY AND COMMUNITY BUILDING

The Aqreps - Educational and Recreational Services continues to demonstrate that true entrepreneurship goes beyond profit-making. It is about building people, nurturing ideas, and creating opportunities within the community.

Through its efforts, we are witnessing a practical example of how small businesses can be managed with purposeโ€”guided by the destiny of the people and strengthened by the character, discipline, and vision of technocrats who are committed to community development without seeking praise or political reward.

This message is not about recognition for its own sake, but a sincere appreciation meant to inspire others who are coming behind. It is a call to uphold the values of selfless service, resilience, and dedication.

We also take this moment to honor the memories and legacies of the past heroes and heroines of Lemu communityโ€”those who gave their best for the growth and unity of the entire local government. Their sacrifices, contributions, and quiet leadership continue to shape the path we walk today.

To their families, we extend our respect and solidarity. Your sacrifices are not forgotten.

As a community, let us remain open-minded, united in purpose, and committed to building a future worthy of their legacy. May we continue to support one another and pray for togetherness, progress, and lasting impact.
