Enactus is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. We provide a platform for teams of outstanding university students to create community development projects that put people’s own ingenuity and talents at the center of improving their livelihoods. Guided by educators and supported by business leaders, our student

s take the kind of entrepreneurial approach that empowers people to be a part of their own success. Our work transforms both the lives of the people we serve, and in turn, the lives of our students as they develop into more effective, values-driven leaders. Like in business, we believe that competition encourages creativity and rewards results. For Enactus, it means more lives impacted. An annual series of regional and national competitions provides a forum for teams to showcase the impact of their outreach efforts and to be evaluated by executives serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious Enactus World Cup to experience excellence in competition, collaboration and celebration.

We are proud to announce the Top 5 teams of the Julius Berger Innovation Challenge 2026!

After a rigorous application and review process, five exceptional student teams from Nigerian universities have been selected to advance, each tackling real infrastructure and safety challenges with bold, homegrown solutions.

Echoguard Helmet, University of Port Harcourt

PAVEx (Plastic-Activated Value Engineering for Excellence), University of Calabar

B.U.D.D.Y (Behavioral Understanding & Danger Detection for You), University of Cross River State

AL.T.A.R. (Autonomous Locator, Tracker & Analysis Rover), Federal University of Technology Owerri

S-SHM (Smart Structural Health Monitoring System), University of Ibadan

Each team receives NGN 1 million for prototype development, six weeks of mentorship by the Green Building Council of Nigeria, and the opportunity to access a share of the NGN 8 million grant pool.

The Julius Berger Innovation Challenge.

Julius Berger Nigeria and Enactus Nigeria are partnering to find student-led solutions to real problems in Nigeria's construction and built environment sector. The challenge puts university teams in front of one of Nigeria's largest infrastructure companies, with the explicit goal of turning campus ideas into industry-grade solutions.

The construction sector is one of Nigeria's largest employers and one of its least disrupted. Sustainable materials, greener build practices, waste reduction, and smarter site operations are not hypotheticals. They are gaps that exist right now, and they need people willing to think differently about them.

That is where the students come in.

Supported by the Green Building Council of Nigeria, this challenge is designed to produce more than competition winners. The goal is a pipeline of young builders, engineers, and innovators who understand what sustainable construction actually demands, and have already done something about it.

The work starts here.

The Ethical Living Project is back for its 3rd iteration! Enactus Nigeria and the African Capital Alliance Foundation are joining forces once again to bring ethical education to 40 schools.

Our goal is simple but profound: to teach senior secondary students that living an ethical life is the key to personal and global impact.

To ensure our message resonates, we recently held a “Train the Trainer” session. Our facilitators are now equipped with the tools, resources, and passion needed to deliver world-class training to these bright young minds.

We were privileged to hear from Mr. Michael Ajayi (Country Director, Enactus Nigeria) and Mrs. Uwa Osa-Oboh (African Capital Alliance), who both reminded us that ethics isn’t just a subject—it’s a way of life.

We’re proud to welcome Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo State to the Enactus family! This achievement is thanks to the incredible support of Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, whose dedication to youth transformation through social innovation is truly inspiring.

On October 30 & 31, we onboarded 44 passionate students under the guidance of Faculty Advisor Dr. Peter Oiku, marking the birth of Enactus Ajayi Crowther University.
