💙 World Prostate Cancer Day

Early detection can save lives. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men, yet many cases show no symptoms in the early stages.

📌 Every man over 60 should have a PSA blood check annually.

Talk about it. Check it. Protect your future.

🧠 What we eat doesn't just nourish the body—it also supports the brain.

While no food can prevent Alzheimer's disease, certain nutrients may help support memory, cognitive function, and healthy brain aging.

This Alzheimer's Awareness Month, we're highlighting everyday foods found in many Nigerian kitchens that can help support brain health in seniors—from leafy greens and fatty fish to nuts, seeds, and spices.

Small, consistent choices can contribute to healthier aging and overall well-being.

💜 Swipe through to learn more, and share this with a senior or caregiver who may find it helpful.

🧠 June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month.

Alzheimer's disease is often misunderstood as a normal part of aging, but it is not. It is a progressive condition that affects memory, thinking, and the ability to carry out everyday tasks.

Understanding the signs, learning the facts, and supporting seniors living with Alzheimer's can make a meaningful difference.

This month, we join the global conversation on brain health and Alzheimer's awareness because every memory matters, and every senior deserves dignity, support, and care.

Retirement can bring more than the end of a career.

As routines change and social connections become fewer, many older men find themselves facing loneliness in silence.

Yet, connection matters. A simple call, visit, or conversation can make more of a difference than we realize.

This Men's Health Month, take a moment to reach out to an older man you care about.

📞 Reach out.
❤️ Check in.
🤝 Make a difference.

A simple call could mean more to them than we imagine.

How often do you check in on the older men in your life?

Prostate problems are incredibly common after the age of 60. But because we don't talk about it — in our homes, in our churches, in our communities — men are suffering in silence and dying from something that could have been caught early.

We're breaking that silence today.
The prostate is small. But when something goes wrong with it, it affects everything — sleep, comfort, dignity, quality of life. And the signs are there long before it becomes serious. You just need to know what to look for.

Swipe through this post. Share it with the senior man in your life.

Because silence doesn't protect them. Knowledge does.
Have you or someone you know ever experienced any of these symptoms? Drop a comment below — let's talk about it openly. 👇🏾

Nobody talks about the gifts that come with getting older. We only talk about the hard parts.

But ageing? It is actually beautiful.
More wisdom. Deeper love. The joy of watching it all grow. A life that has already left its mark on the world.

The elders in our lives carry something the rest of us are still trying to find — and we do not celebrate that enough.

So today, we are flipping it.
We want to know — what do YOU think is the most beautiful thing about getting older?

Think of the elder in your life. Or if you are a senior yourself, tell us directly.

Drop it in the comments. Let's end May on something warm, true, and worth celebrating. 👇🏽

Sometimes, what our seniors need most is not another prescription… but people.

A conversation.
A visit.
A shared laugh.
A sense of belonging.

Research shows that seniors with strong social connections live longer, healthier lives. Community reduces loneliness, supports mental well-being, and reminds our elders that they are loved and valued.

For seniors, community is medicine.

Today, check in on an older loved one. Spend time with them, listen to them, and remind them that they are not alone.

Share this and encourage the seniors in your life to join The Seniors’ Refuge.
