With passion to raise a complete girl child/female gender who aside been enhanced with the moral standards and self confidence also has the abilities to create wealth and value, the founders of WICE took a deep look and research into the computer Engineering and technology field in Nigeria and realized there is a vast gap in participation, inclusion, practice and underrepresentation of the women folks in the fields of Computer Engineering Technology across Nigeria in particular, the realization of this fact led to the birth of Women In Computer Engineering Technology (WICET)
WICET drawing inspiration from one of our founding members who happen to be a practicing (A+) Certified Female Computer Engineer ; believes every woman has what it takes to be an ICT Engineer and also make it a source of wealth and value creation, WICET therefore seeks to serve as a platform to:
• Promote, empower, train, partner, educate and encourage the inclusion and participation of the female folks at all levels in Computer Engineering Technology and ICT literacy skills for wealth creation
• Create a world where the number of women in the Computer Engineering and Technology industry would rise and women would feel welcome, accomplished and appreciated for their efforts and achievements.
• Empower women who are victims of domestic violence, less privileged and females with any form of disabilities with Computer Engineering Skills
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to support, encourage, educate and empower African girls at all levels to be equipped with ICT Engineering skills and be able to use ICT for wealth creation and to achieve whatever goals they set for themselves.
OUR VISION
Our vision is a Nigeria where the gender gap is slowly but surely closed in the Computer Engineering Technology industries and there are greater numbers of women involved in, and reaching the top of these industries whilst being recognized for their achievements.
