Last Friday, our team at The D.A.Y.E Hub Africa had the privilege of visiting students in Rivers State for an engaging youth empowerment session focused on personal growth, self-discovery, and purpose-driven living.

During the session, we had meaningful conversations around:

✨ Understanding self-worth and identity
✨ Setting SMART goals
✨ Developing positive habits and affirmations
✨ Embracing growth and leadership

The energy, participation, and openness from the students reminded us why this mission matters so much. Every conversation shared is a step toward raising confident and purpose-driven young leaders.

Our Visit to Shalom-Star International School.

Last Friday marked a powerful milestone for our Rivers State team as they successfully hosted a Youth Empowerment & Personal Development Workshop for the students at Shalom-Star International School in Port Harcourt.

Led by our dedicated State Coordinator Precious Okpeaye and her amazing team Faith Moghuvwu and Umezurike christine, this program brought together young minds eager to learn, grow, and be inspired. The session focused on empowering students with practical insights on personal development, leadership, goal setting, and making informed decisions about their future.

From engaging discussions to interactive activities, the energy in the room was a reminder of why investing in young people matters. Seeing students actively participate, ask questions, and reflect on their potential made the day truly impactful.

This workshop is especially meaningful because it marks the first successful program organized by our Port Harcourt team, and we are incredibly proud of their commitment to creating opportunities for young people in Rivers State.

At our youth empowerment programs, we’ve seen a simple habit create powerful change: daily affirmations.

Words matter. The way young people speak to themselves shapes their confidence, resilience, and sense of possibility.

When a young person starts their day with:
✨ “I am capable.”
✨ “I am worthy.”
✨ “I can learn and grow.”

…they begin to challenge self-doubt and build a stronger, more positive mindset.

Daily affirmations aren’t just feel-good phrases — they’re tools that help youth:
🔹 Build self-confidence
🔹 Develop a growth mindset
🔹 Overcome negative self-talk
🔹 Stay focused on their goals

As mentors, educators, and community leaders, we have the opportunity to encourage this practice and create spaces where young voices are uplifted.

April is a reminder that growth is intentional—not accidental.

As a youth empowerment community, we step into this new month with a renewed commitment to purpose, impact, and continuous development. Every new phase presents an opportunity to rise above limitations, define our path, and contribute meaningfully to the world around us.

Progress is built daily—through the choices we make, the discipline we sustain, and the willingness to keep improving, one step at a time.

This April, let’s stay focused. Let’s stay intentional. Let’s keep building.
