ONE-YEAR REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY OF LATE BIQ RAJH-LABEL

On Saturday, 14th June 2025, the Abesan Hugh School Old Students' Association gathered to honour the life and legacy of our late leader and brother, BIQ Rajh-Label, in a solemn yet uplifting one-year remembrance ceremony. The event was marked by deep spiritual reflection, heartfelt tributes, and a reaffirmation of our commitment to preserving his legacy.

The program commenced at 10:45am, with members and guests warmly welcomed by our Social Director, Mr. Ayodeji Oyekunle Alade. A spiritually enriching opening dua was led by officiating Imams, setting the tone for the solemn occasion.

The ceremony continued with Qur’anic recitations and memorial prayers, during which selected Surahs and supplications were recited to invoke blessings and mercy upon the departed. This session also featured an inspiring reflection on legacy and leadership, emphasizing the virtues and contributions of our late brother.

A key moment in the program was the tributes and presidential remarks, delivered by our National President, Pastor Olutoto Oluseye. He spoke passionately about BIQ’s impact, underscoring the significance of keeping his legacy alive. A special tribute segment titled 'Immortalizing Legacy' was also observed, where members such as the immediate past National President shared touching memories.

The event further featured a thought-provoking Islamic lecture by Fadilatu Sheik Chief Iman Sulaiman Abubakre Olawale, on the importance of remembering the righteous, followed by final supplications for forgiveness and blessings upon BIQ by Imam Waliyullahi Omileyan. This concluded with remarks from officiating Imams, reinforcing the need for unity and remembrance.

In conclusion, the remembrance ceremony successfully fostered a sense of community, reflection, and solidarity among members. The event had in attendance members from various Sets, particularly members of the 1983 Set who showed massive solidarity and love for one of their own.

At this juncture, the National Executive Committee express our deepest appreciation to all who attended, supported, and contributed to making the program a meaningful one.

May the Almighty continue to grant our late brother eternal peace, and may we all strive to uphold the values he cherished.
