We're on the news again! 🎉
The conversations from the Little Citizens Festival are reaching beyond the event itself, and we're grateful to see more people paying attention to the voices of children.

The festival brought together hundreds of public primary school pupils for a day of learning, participation, and conversation about the Lagos they want to grow up in. It was a reminder that children have ideas, opinions, and perspectives worth listening to.

We appreciate the Executive Chairman of Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, the Education Department, LIRS, RFgardens, and First Bank of Nigeria Limited for supporting a platform where young voices could be heard.

You can't host a festival for children without the community that holds them.

We were honoured to welcome the Executive Chairman of Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, Hon. Bola Oladunjoye, and members of the Executive Council to the Little Citizens Festival. Their presence made the day mean something beyond the programme.

What happens when children are given the space to learn, engage, and be celebrated?

The Little Citizens Festival was a reminder of just how much potential exists when young people are encouraged to participate, ask questions, share ideas, and connect with their communities.

From engaging activities and learning moments to laughter, creativity, and new friendships, the day was filled with experiences that left lasting memories for everyone involved.

Most importantly, it created space for children to see themselves not just as learners, but as active members of the communities they belong to.

You didn’t visit the ocean today… but your actions might have.

Every day, small habits on land travel farther than we think. A plastic bottle, a careless drain, a bit of waste we forget about… it doesn’t disappear. It moves.

It finds its way into rivers.
It breaks down into microplastics.
It enters the food chain.
And eventually, it reaches the very creatures we claim to protect.

A turtle doesn’t understand “plastic.”
A seabird doesn’t understand “human waste.”
They only experience the consequences.

This World Ocean Day, we’re not just talking about the ocean. We’re talking about the habits we normalize on land and the lives they quietly affect beneath the surface.
