*A DAY OF JOY IN MAKOKO* 💚

A Charity Outreach to Support Families in Need

On *Saturday, July 11, 2026*, the *Phillips Olubunmi Emmanuel Foundation* in partnership with *Unifyah Uplifting Futures, United Kingdom* took joy to *Oko Agbon Community, Makoko, Yaba, Lagos State*.

The mission: to bring smiles, support, and essential items to children and vulnerable families.

Despite bad roads that made vehicles inaccessible, our team started at *11:00 a.m.* with the help of local children and a community guide who carried gift items into the community.

We first paid a courtesy visit to the community leader, the *Baale*, who warmly welcomed us and appreciated the gesture.

At the community square, *sweets, biscuits, school exercise books, and clothes* were shared with a massive, excited crowd of children.
More items were also distributed to women and children at the leader’s compound.

*Special Appreciation:*
We sincerely thank *Unifyah Uplifting Futures, United Kingdom* for the generous donation of clothes and many other items sent to Nigeria for POE Foundation. Your kindness is making a real difference.

Three dedicated volunteers managed the entire process with order and care.

Despite the tough terrain and crowd control challenges, the outreach was a huge success. It brought real happiness, smiles, and much-needed relief to the people of Makoko.

A Lifeline for Mr. Olanrewaju Peters:
Turning Hope into Lasting Relief

When glaucoma cost Mr. Olanrewaju Peters his eyesight, it stole far more than his vision—it stripped away his ability to work and provide for the family he loves so dearly. For a dedicated husband and father, the hardest part of this diagnosis isn't the darkness; it’s the daily heartbreak of wondering how his wife and children will survive.

On July 10, 2026, a vital glimmer of light broke through that darkness. Thanks to the compassion of the Phillips Olubunmi Emmanuel (POE) Foundation, spearheaded by Jumoke Phillips, a timely financial gift was delivered to the family by Olufunmilayo. This crucial act of kindness provided immediate comfort and served as a powerful reminder to Mr. Peters that his family has not been forgotten by the world.

However, while this gift has met their most immediate needs, the road ahead remains incredibly steep. The reality of a long-term disability means the family's daily burdens—food, housing, and basic living expenses—are ongoing and overwhelming.

We are making an urgent appeal to the hearts of compassionate individuals, community groups, and philanthropists. Please consider standing in the gap for this family. Whether large or small, your contribution is a building block toward stability, dignity, and peace of mind for a father who wants nothing more than to see his family cared for.

Meet Mr. Olanrewaju Peters, a resident of Apollo Road (off Makoko Road), Yaba, Lagos State. He is a hardworking husband and a dedicated father who recently lost his sight due to glaucoma.
Because of this sudden medical challenge, he and his family are currently facing severe financial hardship, making it incredibly difficult to provide daily basic needs.
We are humbly appealing to kind-hearted individuals, corporate bodies, and NGOs to support Mr. Olanrewaju in any way possible. Your financial, medical, or material assistance will go a long way in bringing stability and hope back to his family.
No act of kindness is too small. Please reach out to support them today.

Gifting is a voluntary act of generosity and emotional expression.. 🙏🏿
