Our prayers are with those in captivity. May God intervene and bring peace and security back to our nation.

Job 11:18- And you will feel secure, because there is hope; you will look around and take your rest in security.

Amara was 16 when she met him online.

He was funny, mature, and always said the right things.
“Don’t worry about money, I’ve got you,” he told her.
At first, it felt like a dream.
New phone.
Hair done every week.
Money for things her parents couldn’t always afford.
Her friends said, “Girl, you’re living soft life!”
Amara smiled… but something felt off.
He started calling more.
“Why didn’t you pick up?”
“Who were you with?”

Then came the small requests.
“Send me a picture.”
“Just one… it’s only me.”
She hesitated.
But then she remembered the gifts.
So she sent it.

That’s when things changed.
“Come see me this weekend.”
“If you don’t, I’ll be disappointed.”
“After everything I’ve done for you…”

Amara’s chest tightened.
This didn’t feel like a dream anymore.
It felt like a trap.
She realized something too late:
It was never free.

She was paying for it with her comfort, her peace, and her choices.
One night, she looked at herself and whispered:
“This isn’t me.”
So she blocked him.

It wasn’t easy.
She lost the money, the gifts, the “soft life.”
But she got something back:
Herself.

Lessons:
• Not everything that looks like luxury is freedom.
If you can’t say no safely, it’s not love,it’s control.
Your body, your peace, your future are worth more than any gift.

Failure is part of your journey. It strengthens and sharpens you.

Every successful person has faced rejection, obstacles and failure. The difference is, they didn't let it define them. They used it to refine their craft and adjust their approach.

Healing starts with knowing God, understanding your self-worth and choosing to grow into the woman He created you to be. Your past doesn’t define your future, God’s love does ❤️

He says ‘prove you love me’
→ That’s pressure, not love

He tells you to keep your relationship secret
→ That’s a warning sign

He buys you things and expects ‘something back’
→ That’s not generosity,it’s a transaction

He threatens to leave if you don’t do what he wants
→ That’s emotional blackmail

He jokes about sharing your private photos
→ That’s a serious danger

He isolates you from your friends
→ That’s how control starts

He says ‘other girls are doing it’
→ That’s peer pressure tactics

He makes you feel guilty for having boundaries
→ Boundaries are healthy, not wrong

This is for every young lady who grew up around pain, shouting, neglect, or hurt at home. What happened to you is not your fault and it does not change your value. You are still deserving of love, kindness, peace and happiness.

Family trauma can leave deep wounds but healing is possible. Your past does not decide your future. You can heal, grow and become stronger than the pain you went through.

Be gentle with yourself. Take your healing one day at a time.
