A Call to Justice: Join Nevaeh and Nikeia Care Foundation in Defending Human Dignity
Justice should never depend on wealth, influence, or social status. Every person deserves fair treatment under the law, access to legal representation, and the right to healthcare, regardless of their circumstances. Yet, across Nigeria, many individuals remain unlawfully detained in correctional facilities and police custody simply because they cannot afford legal representation or access essential medical care.
Nevaeh and Nikeia Care Foundation, headquartered in Lagos State, Nigeria, was established to restore hope, defend human dignity, and promote justice for the vulnerable. Our mission is to advocate for unlawfully detained persons, facilitate access to pro bono legal services, and provide holistic medical support to individuals in police custody and correctional centres.
Many detainees spend months or even years awaiting trial, often without legal counsel. Some suffer from untreated illnesses, mental health conditions, or injuries while in custody, with little or no access to healthcare. These challenges not only violate fundamental human rights but also undermine the principles of justice and equality.
Our foundation works to bridge these gaps by:
- Advocating for the rights of unlawfully detained persons.
- Connecting indigent detainees with volunteer lawyers who provide pro bono legal representation.
- Organizing medical outreach programmes in police custody facilities and correctional centres.
- Raising public awareness about unlawful detention, access to justice, and the importance of protecting human rights.
- Collaborating with government institutions, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders to strengthen justice and healthcare systems.
