One thing you would notice as an English speaker or learner is that English rules and patterns are not always fixed.

Why? Because English has borrowed words from many major languages over time.

These include Latin, Greek, French, Old English, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, and Indian languages.

Knowing a word’s origin can help you understand its meaning, pronunciation, and spelling.

Consider the “b” in Plumber as a shy person....very silent. 🤷

It's pronounced as 'PLAH-MA'

What other silent letter words are not allowing us to be great😇?
