*MEMORIAL OF ST FRANCIS DE SALES*

St Francis was a bishop of Geneva and a doctor of the Church. He converted several souls while working in Geneva. When the missionary work was difficult, he never gave up.

As a missionary, he "was rejected with insult and threatened with death. But nothing could daunt or resist him, and ere long the Church burst forth into a second spring. It is stated that he converted 72,000 Calvinists."

St Francis wrote a spiritual book called _An Introduction to a Devout Life._ This book is a good book for anyone who wants to grow deeper in the spiritual life. In it, he teaches about Christian virtues and friendship with God. He wrote in his book that "happy are those who are obedient, for God will not suffer them to go astray."

Beloved, you too can be a saint. As we celebrate Saint Francis de Sales today, know that God calls you to be a saint. Desire to be a saint. Pursue sanctity.

*Morning Prayer*

Dear Jesus, we thank you for the gift of this day. We thank you for your steadfast love and your unending mercies, which are new every morning. We commend into your holy hands our activities today and all that concern us. Help us not to go astray but keep us faithful always. Heal the sick among us. Answer our prayers. Give us joy and peace in the Holy Spirit. Bless our families and friends. Strengthen us against temptation and make us victorious always. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady, Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for us.
