Transformational Leadership and Nation Building in Nigeria
The Director of Pan-African Cultural Heritage and Preservation at the Valu Trust Foundation, Patrick Inezi, PhD, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on “Transformational Leadership and Nation Building in Nigeria” at the Africa Leadership Development Center Ota, Nigeria.
In his address, Dr. Patrick emphasized the urgent need for visionary leadership, ethical governance, servant leadership, and the establishment of sustainable institutions capable of driving long-term development across Africa.
He noted that Africa’s future prosperity depends greatly on leaders who possess integrity, competence, innovation, and a deep commitment to the collective advancement of the continent.
Speaking on behalf of the Valu Trust Foundation, Dr. Patrick described the foundation as a Pan-African institution dedicated to raising transformational leaders and promoting continental development in alignment with the aspirations of the African Union Agenda 2063 — the strategic framework for Africa’s inclusive growth, peace, unity, and sustainable development.
According to him, Africa must move beyond dependency and embrace a new generation of leaders equipped with the knowledge, character, and strategic vision necessary to build resilient economies, strengthen democratic institutions, preserve cultural heritage, and foster peace and regional integration.
Dr. Patrick further encouraged young Africans, scholars, policymakers, and emerging leaders to view leadership not merely as a position of authority, but as a responsibility to serve humanity, defend justice, and inspire societal transformation.
The event attracted academics, students, researchers, leadership experts, and development practitioners who engaged in robust discussions on governance, innovation, youth inclusion, and Africa’s evolving role in global affairs.
