ICAN turns another historic page in its enduring journey of excellence and professional leadership.

Queensley Sofuratu Seghosime, mni, M.Sc, FCA has been duly invested as the 62nd President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

With this solemn and significant moment, the mantle of leadership is formally passed, carrying forward a legacy built over decades of integrity, service and impact.

A new chapter now begins, defined by renewed vision, strengthened commitment to professional excellence, and a continued drive to advance the accounting profession and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The story continues, with purpose and distinction.

SWAN EQUIPS SCHOOLS' LIBRARY IN LAGOS.

On Wednesday May 20th to Friday May 22nd 2026, the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN) ably led by her 12th National Chairperson, Mrs. Blessing Osakwe-ogo, FCA executed the SWAN Equipping Schools' Libraries Project in Six Secondary Schools namely:

• Boys Senior Academy, Sura, Obalende Lagos Island

• Boys Junior Academy, Sura, Obalende, Lagos Island ( 20th May, 2026)

• Arch. Deacon Adelaja Senior High School, Bariga (Thursday, 21st May, 2026),

• Ajayi Crowther Memorial Senior Grammar School, Bariga, on Thursday, 21st May, 2026, and

• Army Cantonment Boys Senior Ojo Military Cantonment Barracks, Ojo, (Friday, 22nd May, 2026).

• Army Cantonment Boys Junior School, Ojo Military Cantonment Barracks, Ojo, (Friday, 22nd May, 2026).

During the visits, SWAN executed the following activities:

i. conducted a 'Quiz competition' centered on SWAN, ICAN & the Accounting profession topics and Prizes were given to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners.

ii. inaugurated the 'Future Accountants' Club' and

iii. donated Personal Development and Accounting Books to the Schools' libraries.

Six different Boys Secondary Schools within the Education Districts II, III & V benefited from this project.

Much appreciation to the Committees Chairperson, Mrs. Aderonke Akeredolu, FCA and her team for an excellently executed outing.

On May 13th, 2026, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) held the 77th Induction Ceremony for New Members into the Institute.

The ceremony was held at ICAN House, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.

SWAN 12th National Chairperson, Mrs. Blessing Osakwe-ogo, FCA was in attendance to welcome the female inductees.

SWAN COMMEMORATES HANGOUT 2026 @ GLOBAL WORKERS DAY 2026.

On May 1st, 2026, members of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN) ably led by its National Chairperson, Mrs. Blessing Osakwe-ogo, FCA, celebrated the Global Workers' Day on May 1st, 2026 by hanging out and touring spectacular Sites in Abeokuta, Ogun Sate.

The tour commenced with a posh train ride from the Mobolaji Johnson Train Station, Ebute, Lagos.

On arrival, SWAN Queens checked into the prestigious Green Legacy Resort Hotel inside the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) located @ Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
Thereafter, SWAN Queens toured the OOPL and Museum facilities. The spectacular and inspiring life of Past President, Chief (Dr). Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, were all on display and explained by the tour guide.

At OOPL, members were wowed with taking their individual pictures at the Past President's official Desk, just like it was in A*o Rock, Abuja.

The Queens took a break with lunch at the renowned 24/7 Restaurant inside the MKO Abiola Statdium still at Oke Mosan.

The first day was rounded up with a Movie night out @ the Resort Cinema where SWAN Queens were treated to an epic Film - Efunroye, released just that afternoon.

On May 2nd, SWAN had a sumptuous Buffet Breakfast at the Green Legacy Resort Restaurant and proceeded to visit the Olumo Rock and Adire Mall.

The tour was ended after these visits and it was time to head back to the Prof. Wole Soyimka Train Station @ Laderin, Abeokuta for the trip back to Lagos.

2026 SWAN Hangout afforded members a memorable outing to relax and bond , making members already looking forward to the 2027 SWAN Hangout edition.

SWAN COURTESY VISIT TO THE P.S, MINISTRY OF FINANCE, LAGOS STATE.

On May 5th, 2026, the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN) ably led by its 12th National Chairperson, Mrs. Blessing Osakwe-ogo, FCA, paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Lagos State.

During the visit, the National Chairperson enumerated the work of SWAN to the public.
In response, the P.S expressed appreciation for the visit and his new perception about what SWAN represent.

The visit was culminated with a section of photographs.
