Week 3 of our Digital Literacy Project was another step toward building confident, digitally empowered students.

Every lesson, every click, and every new skill learned is helping to bridge the digital divide. The journey continues, and the future is looking brighter.

If we want a better community and a future where both children and adults are digitally empowered, then it will take our collective effort to make it happen.

When PedaAfrica shared this vision, we gladly supported it because we believe access to digital knowledge should not be determined by location or circumstance. Together, we mobilized resources, funding, devices, and skilled volunteers to turn this vision into reality.

The journey began last week, and on 18th June, we successfully completed the second week of our four-week Digital Literacy Project at Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikot Nsung Ikono, Uyo.

This initiative is being implemented through the collaboration of El-Roi Legacy Initiative, PedaAfrica, LAskil, Oria Digitals, and 100 Folds ICT. The organizations and their team members have sacrificed their time, expertise, resources, and personal laptops to ensure that these students gain practical digital skills and confidence in using technology.

The impact is already visible. During the first week, many of the students found it difficult to control a computer mouse. By the second week, significant improvement had been recorded, showing that access and opportunity can truly transform lives.

This project is helping to address the digital divide by promoting quality education, digital inclusion, and equal access to opportunities. It contributes directly to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

We now look forward to Week Three, where El-Roi Legacy Legacy Initiative will facilitate the training sessions as we continue empowering these young minds for a digital future.

They could not access it, so we took it to them.

They dreamed of learning digital skills one day, and we helped make that dream possible. They thought their environment was a limitation, but we are here to prove that where you live should never determine what you can achieve.

On 11/06/2026, we officially kicked off the four-week Digital Literacy Project in partnership with Peda Africa Charity Foundation.

This is Day One, and we invite you to follow our journey as we empower students with the digital skills they need for the future.

Today was supposed to be a day filled with pure joy for our little ones. But across Nigeria, many hearts are grieving.
‎
‎How do we celebrate when a father, broken by extreme hunger and the crushing weight of providing for his family, makes a devastating mistake that costs his child's life?
‎
‎How do we find smiles on our faces when innocent children in Oyo State are still far from their homes, held captive in fear?
‎
‎
‎This is a time for deep empathy. It is a shared grief that affects us all, but it hurts the most vulnerable among us which is our children.
‎
‎Despite these realities, our children remain our greatest treasures and our hope for a better tomorrow. They are the dreamers, the future leaders, and the bright lights that we must protect at all costs.
‎
‎So today, we are celebrating their resilience. we are also celebrating the renewed call to action for all of us. Every child deserves to grow up in a society free from hunger, fear, and violence.
‎
‎At El-Roi Legacy Initiative, we are committed to being a beacon of hope, but we cannot do it alone. we urge every well-meaning Nigerian to channel their grief and empathy into action.
‎
‎Whether it is supporting a vulnerable family, advocating for child protection, or partnering with organizations that provide food and education to street children, your contribution matters.

Many students in rural communities and public schools do not still have access to basic computer education. As technology continues to grow around the world, these children are being left behind because they lack digital skills and learning opportunities.

To help bridge this gap, El-Roi Legacy Initiative is partnering with PedaAfrica on a Digital Literacy Project aimed at teaching secondary school students basic computer knowledge and digital skills.

As part of this project, El-Roi Legacy Initiative will facilitate one of the training sessions scheduled for May at Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikot Nsung Ikono, Uyo. Through practical and interactive learning, students will gain basic computer knowledge that can help improve their education and future opportunities.

We are also calling for a volunteer facilitator who is computer-literate, can communicate well with students, and is passionate about community impact and youth development.

This project supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes equal access to quality education for every child. It also supports SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by helping students in underserved communities gain important digital skills.

Together, we can bridge the digital gap, one child and one community at a time.

Something meaningful has been happening behind the scenes at El-Roi Legacy Initiative, and we're excited to finally share it with you.

‎Over the past few months, we've been working towards improving access to digital knowledge for children and rural communities. We believe that in today's world, digital literacy is no longer optional, it's a necessity.
‎
‎
‎And every child, regardless of their location, deserves the opportunity to learn, explore, and grow through technology.
‎
‎That's why we are partnering with PedaAfrica on a Digital Literacy Project aimed at equipping students with basic computer knowledge and skills.
‎
‎As part of this initiative, El-Roi Legacy will be facilitating one of the training sessions scheduled for May at Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikot Nsung Ikono, Uyo.
