Presenting Jolomi Fenemigho and Bukola Williams, esteemed members of the Nigeria Association of the Blind: Ifako Ijaiye Chapter. They were selected by the chapter's executives to represent their group in the recently concluded empowerment program organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment. During this program, they received vocational training in leatherworks and arts and crafts, including soap making. Additionally, they were provided with start-up tools to support their growth. Here is a picture of them at the graduation ceremony, which took place on March 6th, 2025.

JOIN US IN CELEBRATING UNITY AND EMPOWERMENT: SUPPORT OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY AND WORLD DISABILITY DAY

We trust this message finds you well. We are writing on behalf of the Nigeria Association of the Blind, Ifako Ijaiye Local Chapter. Our community, consisting of over 30 dedicated blind and visually impaired members, is devoted to fostering mutual support and empowerment. We aim to enhance the welfare of our members through various initiatives, including empowerment opportunities, sponsorships, training and retraining programs, and other beneficial forms of assistance.

As the year draws to a close, we are thrilled to announce our annual Christmas party, set for December 13th, 2024. This celebration holds special significance as it coincides with the spirit of World Disability Day, observed on December 3rd. This day, established by the United Nations, underscores the importance of promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. Our Christmas party not only marks the festive season but also serves as a powerful reminder of the unity and resilience within our community. It is a time to reflect on our achievements, celebrate our shared journey, and reinforce our commitment to inclusion and accessibility for all. The conjunction of these events highlights the importance of coming together to support and empower each other, fostering a sense of belonging and joy among our members.

To ensure the success of our celebration, we have set a budget of 450,000 Naira to cover venue rental, catering, entertainment, and small gifts for our members. To achieve this goal, we are seeking support from generous individuals and organizations.

We graciously seek your support in creating a memorable event for our members. Any contribution, whether financial or in-kind, would be deeply appreciated and will greatly enhance the success of our year-end celebration, providing tremendous benefits to both our members and invited guests.

Your support will not only help us celebrate the festive season but also strengthen our community bonds and bring a sense of belonging and joy to our members.
