As comes to a close, we're inspired by Lupita Nyong'o, who continues to turn her personal experience into meaningful action.

Her commitment, in partnership with the Foundation for Women's Health, to advancing uterine fibroid research through grants awarded to Dr. Daneisha Cheairs and Dr. Ping Yin is a timely reminder that awareness must be matched by investment, innovation and better care for women everywhere.

At EndoSurvivors International Foundation, we stand in solidarity with everyone living with fibroids, endometriosis, and other often-overlooked gynaecological conditions. Every woman deserves to be heard, believed, and offered excellent care.

When people think of endometriosis, they often think of severe period pain. While pain is a common symptom, it's not the only sign; as not everyone with experiences painful periods.

Some women with endometriosis may have little or no menstrual pain but still struggle with symptoms such as:

🎗Heavy menstrual bleeding
🎗Chronic pelvic pain
🎗Pain during or after in*******se
🎗Painful bowel movements or urination, especially during periods
🎗Bloating ("endo belly")
🎗Fatigue that doesn't improve with rest
🎗Difficulty getting pregnant or infertility
🎗Lower back pain

Endometriosis can look different from person to person. That is why it's important not to dismiss symptoms simply because period pain isn't present.

Bowel endometriosis is real, painful, and often overlooked or misdiagnosed.

When endometrial tissue grows on or around the bowel or bladder, it can affect everyday comfort and quality of life in ways many people don’t talk about enough. Some common symptoms may include:
• Recurrent UTIs
• Frequent urination
• Constipation
• Diarrhoea
• Painful bowel movements

These symptoms are often dismissed or mistaken for other conditions, causing many people to suffer in silence for years. If you experience any of the symptoms listed above (especially during your periods), please see a gynaecologist.

Early diagnosis is key.
