‘A candle loses nothing by lighting another’.

This March, we chose to spotlight and celebrate 5 of our LBS women.

In this interview, they reflected on their journey to getting where they are today, what the theme ‘Give to Gain’ means to them and what kind of support they wish they had earlier on in their career.

The one thing that remained consistent across board is the fact that all of us can do a lot to help one another from wherever we are and Giving back starts with us; wherever we are, and with whatever we have.

Happy International Women’s Day to every woman in the London Business School Nigeria Alumni Association. Your story is unique and can’t be told by anyone else.

You are professionals, you are leaders, you are mothers, you are sisters, friends, daughters, and most importantly, women. Women deserving of recognition, support and celebration.

No two women are the same but yet each of you continue to excel. On the hard days, on the slow days and even on the bad days, you show up and do the damn thing.

We see you, we hear you and we will keep cheering you on.

Keep being you. Keep being soft. Keep being the women that you are.

Welcoming Professor Kathleen O’Connor to Nigeria for the first time was one of the highlights of the Worldwide Alumni Celebration. She was all smiles throughout the evening, bringing the same warmth and energy that have made her one of our most beloved professors.

For many of us, it was more than just hearing her insights again, it was the joy of reuniting with a teacher whose lessons have continued to shape our career journeys long after business school.

Having her with us made the evening even more special, and we’re grateful she could share this moment with our community here in Nigeria.

The room may be quiet now, but the conversations from WAC 2025 are still echoing in all of us.

Ideas were exchanged, new friendships were formed, and a community of dreamers and doers proved just how powerful it can be when we gather with purpose.

Thursday night reminded us that when great minds meet, the impact doesn’t end when the lights go out, it keeps unfolding.

Thank you to everyone who brought their brilliance, curiosity, belief in Africa’s future.

The celebration may be over, but the work…the momentum continues.
