The Society for the safety of the Insane and Destitute “So-Said Charity Home” was established in the year 2000 and was formally called Concern Peoples International Organization which was named based on the fact for the ‘’concern of the well being of the vulnerable persons’’ before being coined to her present name as a nomenclature that reflects the job we do. The Organization started through the
Inspiration/revelations shown to Mrs. Matins who was then a part time 300 level student of the Lagos State University (LASU) as well as a manager in KAFAM Services Limited, before the inspiration to reach-out to the vulnerable persons to show them love and care came to her, those who are Destitute should not be seen as people having the worse problems God cannot solve. God always speaks to her through dreams and reveal a passage in the Bible that says “YOU HAVE NOT CHOSEN ME BUT I HAVE CHOSEN YOU AND ORDAINED YOU THAT YOU SHOULD GO AND BRING FORTH FRUITS AND THAT YOUR FRUITS SHALL REMAIN ( John 15 vs. 16). She then became worried and troubled because of the revelation, how can I go out to reach the vulnerable persons on the street that is rejected by all and what will people say? In a short while, she started having signs like illness, failure in business, passion for lunatics. After several consultations with the pastors, she asked the Lord let thy will be done upon her. The Lord showed her another passage in the bible saying, FOR THE VISION IS YET FOR AN APPOINTED TIME BUT AT THE END, IT SHALL SPEAK AND NOT LIE, THOUGH IT MAY TARRY, WAIT FOR IT BECAUSE IT WILL SURELY COME. At a time, she deferred her course in LASU and also resigned from her place of work and start identifying with the vulnerable persons on the street. During this process, she went through lots of challenges including family rejections, neglect from friends and some societal members. She was thrown out of her matrimonial home for 8 months; Her Family believe was that she was bringing disgrace and shame to the family by associating herself with this group of people. During this period the Lord had always been with her by making people to reach out to her and also healing the sick she cared for.
