GRATEFUL FOR ADVERSITY

Text: James 1:2-4, Psalms 46:1-11

No one gets excited about adversity right? But adversity presents an opportunity for us to grow, gain perseverance, and develop a closer relationship with God.

There are parts of us that God is developing and much of that development comes from pushing through hard times. We should learn to lean into adversity and trust God’s plan for our lives at all times.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for the perseverance that develops through our suffering. Thank you that you haven’t left our side when times have been unbearable. Lord, you are our comforter and our strength in the moments of trials and tribulations. Help us to feel your presence during the storms and know that you are near. AMEN.

GOD SUSTAINED US!

The definition of SUSTAIN is to provide what is needed for something or someone to exist and continue. Where would we be without God’s divine sustenance?

How has God sustained you? Take time to write down 10 ways that God has covered you. Meditate on His power, love and goodness.

Prayer for Today: Father, We are so grateful that you keep us wrapped in your arms daily. Thank you for your goodness and your faithfulness. Thank you for your grace and new mercies every morning. Thank you Lord for sustaining us mentally and physically throughout the toughest times of our lives. We give you all the glory God. AMEN!

GRATEFUL TO BE ALIVE

Today, take time to write 10 specific details about your life that you are grateful for. What are you able to do today because you are breathing?

Prayer: Thank you God for the life you have breathed into us. Thank you for giving us another chance to glorify Your name. Let us never take for granted our beating hearts, our lungs, and the blood running through our veins. Being alive is a gift. Thank you for this gift today Lord. AMEN.

In a World of War, BE CALM.
Jesus told us, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled” (Matthew 24:6). Jesus was telling us not to panic, even when we are surrounded by wars and rumors of war. How is that possible? The answer is wrapped up in the peace we can find from God’s promise, God’s presence, and God’s plan.

While we are never promised a life of no conflict on this side of heaven, we are promised peace that passes understanding. If you find yourself worrying about the state of the world and anxious about the future, there is good news for you. Ours is a God who raises up nations and rulers and brings them low.

Let not your heart be troubled! Trust Christ and be calm.
