The Africa AI Upskilling Programme Nigeria Workshop 1 brought together participants from the University of Lagos and Afe Babalola University, creating an energetic and highly interactive learning environment where AI moved from theory into practice.

Through hands-on training, practical AI labs, peer-to-peer collaboration, networking, and solution development, participants explored how AI can be applied to real challenges and worked together to develop innovative AI solutions.

But the impact goes beyond the workshop.

Participants are leaving with deeper AI skills, practical experience, and the confidence to take what they have learned back to their institutions, where these skills will strengthen teaching, support innovation, and ultimately empower their students.

This is what AI upskilling in higher education looks like: equipping HEIs with the knowledge, skills, and capacity to lead in an AI-powered future.

And we’re just getting started!

Cohort 2 is currently underway, continuing the momentum, collaboration, and innovation.

From a passion for food to building a business with a bigger vision.

There is always something inspiring about seeing an entrepreneur transform an idea into a business that continues to evolve, serve customers and create value.

During our recent visit to Ibadan, our Growth Support Services Officer, adesinaemmanuel alongside heyfisayo, Growth Services Intern; and ._ Financial Inclusion Analyst, visited Sefunmi Dada, CEO of Skye Foodies and alumna of AEP 123 and RFP 3.

With about a decade of experience in the food business, Sefunmi has built Skye Foodies into a growing food enterprise while championing the potential of Nigerian food products and snacks.

Beyond the products and services, what stood out during our visit was the entrepreneurial drive to keep improving, expand opportunities and position Nigerian food businesses for greater visibility and market access.

Her journey is a reminder that building a sustainable business takes more than passion, it requires continuous learning, resilience, strategic thinking and the courage to pursue bigger possibilities.

We are proud to celebrate Sefunmi and the growth journey of skyefoodies as we continue to walk alongside our entrepreneurs beyond the classroom.

Last week, Over 100 entrepreneurs and business owners gathered in Ibadan for the FATE Foundation Oyo Physical Business Advisory Session themed:

“The Entrepreneur’s Playbook: Winning Customers, Building Profits and Scaling Sustainably.”

From candid conversations on navigating the realities of entrepreneurship to practical business consultations and an insightful Fireside Chat, the room was filled with ideas, questions, connections, and most importantly, a shared determination to build better and more sustainable businesses.

We were reminded that entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business, it is about continuously learning, making better decisions, serving customers better, building profitable systems, and having the resilience to keep moving forward.

When branding meets purpose, every print can become part of a bigger story.

During our recent visit to Ibadan, Oluwaseun Oshoniyi, Senior Manager & Head, Growth and Alumni Services, alongside Emmanuel Adesina, Growth Support Services Officer; Oluwafisayomi Adeoti, Growth Services Intern; and Caleb Adeoye, Financial Inclusion Analyst, visited Oluwafemi Ikotun, CEO of Printwave, PRO of the FATE Foundation Alumni Executive Committee, and alumnus of the Revolving Loan Fund Programme (RFP) 1.

Printwave is an Ibadan-based printing and branding company helping businesses bring their brands to life through printing, graphics design, branded merchandise, corporate gifts and other customised brand solutions. The business is built around a simple but powerful idea: helping brands create meaningful experiences and communicate their stories through what they produce.

Beyond the business, it was also great to connect with Oluwafemi and hear about his entrepreneurial journey, the evolution of Printwave and his continued commitment to the growth of the entrepreneurial community.

As an active member of our Alumni Executive Committee, Oluwafemi continues to contribute to strengthening connections within our alumni community while building a business of his own.

We are proud to celebrate Printwave's journey, growth and impact, and we look forward to seeing the brand continue to make waves.
