As tradition and culture demand in Urhobo land, kola is symbol of honor, unity, and goodwill, followed by heartfelt prayers and blessings for the success of the outreach and the children we came to serve. The Urhobo people are widely known for their strong cultural values and deep sense of community respect.

We were warmly and duly welcomed by the community heads, youth leaders, and notable individuals of Okuijogoro Community before we officially kick-started our Legacy Impact Project and 10-Year Anniversary.

Their presence was more than a welcome, it was a recognition of the work Delta Pikin Initiative has continued to do over the past 10 years, and a powerful moment of seeing the impact firsthand so the story of this good work can travel even further.

It reminded us that true impact is not only measured by what we give, but also by the trust, prayers, and support of the communities we serve.

For many children, going to school doesn’t start with books… It starts with their feet.

Feet that walk long distances. Feet that feel every stone, every heat, every pain. No sandals. No protection. Just hope. But today, that story begins to change. Over the past 10 years we have distributed 1500 school sandals.

At Ugboren Primary School (Ugboren Community), Okokporo Primary School (Okokporo Community), Ozue Primary School (Okuovo Community), and Ijogoro Primary School (Okuijogoro community), something simple became something powerful.

Through the Legacy Impact Project and 10 Years of Delta Pikin Initiative, these children received more than school sandals they received dignity, confidence, and a reason to walk proudly into school.

School uniforms are a major identity for children, giving them a sense of dignity, safety, and belonging in the classroom.

Through the Legacy Impact Project, Delta Pikin Initiative reached four primary schools, providing school uniforms along with other essential educational materials to children who need them the most.

This initiative formed part of our 10-Year Anniversary, where 550 children benefited, including 30 out-of-school children who were enrolled back into school, helping them return to learning with confidence and pride.
