BALM OF GILEAD DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE is an Non Governmental & Non Political Organization, duly registered with Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, CAC/IT/NO 136864.
OUR AIMS / OBJECTIVES:
1. Initiate and innovate jobs to alleviate and mitigate poverty, in our society.
Provide a place where the less privileged, the disabled persons, the indigents, the Orphans find solace. For the advancement of Christ Kingdom.
2. Provide social amenities to Less Privileged members of the society.
Organize seminars such as
[1] EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS on web literacy / online business, critical thinking, computer training, 21st century learning skills, Identifying your capabilities, talent and career.
[2] BUSINESS ORIENTATIONAL SEMINARS on Entrepreneurship, small scale businesses, Building and strengthening partnerships.
[3] CHURCH / ORGANIZATIONAL SEMINARS for youth, Children, Singles, Married Men & women, societies, and retreat, holiday & camping programs.
[4] REFORMATIONAL / TRANSFORMATIONAL SEMINARS on bringing Street boys & girls and drug addicted persons back to their senses / normalcy.
[5] To Organize workshops, road shows, rallies, educational tours, awareness campaign and conferences on issues relating to our objectives.
Engage in any other charitable activity in the interest of those aforementioned within the provisions of the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria governing charitable incorporated Trustees.
OUR IDENTITY:
THE NAME, BALM OF GILEAD is derived from the name of a region of ancient Palestine known for its balm, Gen.37:25, Gen.43:11, Jer.8:22 and 1 Kings 10:2.To our organization, Jesus is the Balm of Gilead, as he came to alleviate pains, and relieve man from the clutches of the evil one. Therefore; Jesus is our Balm of Gilead, our solace, our comfort in grief, our alleviation of anxiety, our source of relief and consolation. That is why we were mandated to title and tag the organization.

BALM OF GILEAD DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE is a non Political and non governmental organization that focuses and concentrates on poverty alleviation, eradication and mitigation in the society by introducing and innovating jobs and thereby drives people out of poverty with daily commitment. The organization focuses on the process of growing or causing something to grow and become larger or more advanced.
BALM OF GILEAD DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE is founded for development and empowerment of people, such as young, adolescents/teenagers, school drop outs, unemployed, jobless men & women, less-privileged, widows, orphans, the downtrodden by educating and inspiring them, to use their common ideas, gifts, talents and senses for creativity, innovativeness, and inventiveness.
BALM OF GILEAD DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE is established with the objective to support in fighting and mitigating poverty in the society and to promote management of resources.
OUR MISSION
1. To improve the livelihood of the population through timely and sustainable interventions that enlist and secure the active participation of the poor masses in skillful programs, where all the population, especially the disabled and disadvantaged groups will have means; find a place, and way by which they gain access to improve in their daily income, for sustainable livelihood.
2. To work to make life better for the advancement of Christ Kingdom among the Less privileged People of the society.
3. To make positive impacts in the life of the confused and helpless people in the society, by showing them ways to earn their daily bread, as Christ has a community mindset, which made him to travel through all towns and villages, where he saw confused and helpless crowds of people scattered like sheep without Shepherd and he had compassion on them, Matt.9:35 36.
4. To promote human welfare and social reform, which is humanitarianism, and thereby foster the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ among them, that is pragmatic evangelism which reads thus; in the general of epistle of James chapter two, verses fifteen to eighteen: If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well, but you dont give them what the body needs, what good is it?
In the same way faith, if it doesnt have works, is dead by itself.
But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith from my works, James 2:15-18.We are sincerely devoted to human welfare, irrespective of the religion.
OUR VISION
1. Our vision is to include programs on sustainable income generating activities, skill & craft training, and relief operations.
2. To introduce people to a fresh approach and a new move of beginning something with their ideas and hands, in order to deal with the problem of poverty in our society.
3. To introduce people to the power, and opportunity to do something to earn their daily bread and thereby discharge their responsibilities and common needs, without depending on anybody.
4. To introduce people to the way, in which programs and plans on how their daily earning or income should be drawn. As so many people are wallowing today in poverty in our society, due to ignorance, sluggishness and laziness on their side, without knowing that sluggishness and laziness are viruses that lead to poverty.
5. For development of young people, adolescents/teenagers, school drop outs, unemployed, jobless men & women, less-privileged, widows, orphans and the downtrodden by educating and inspiring them on how to use their common ideas, gifts, talents and senses for creativity, innovativeness, and inventiveness.
6. To support in fighting and mitigating poverty in the society and promote management of resources.
7. For poverty alleviation, eradication and mitigation in the society by introducing and innovating jobs and thereby drive people out of poverty with daily commitment and advance Christ kingdom among them. To educate people on how to make money or earn daily income, with biblical principles and teach them what business and trade is all about.
8. To make it known to people that bible contains rules and basic truths of making money and the necessary resources for riches, wealth and prosperity, as far as everything in heaven and on earth belongs to God, likewise silver and gold, Haggai 2: 8, Hosea 2:8, psalm 24:1 3.To let people know that God is the sources of our finances, Deut.8:18, Prov.10:22, Gen.24:35, psalm 37:22, James 1:17.
9. To teach people that they need to work very hard,2 Tim.2:6,2 Thess.3:10,Prov.12:11,Prov.14:23- 24,Prov.6:4 11,Prov. 20:4,Prov.24:30 34,Eccl.10:18.
10. To encourage people as not to be discouraged, with the time of their little beginning and commencement. Psalm 113:7 8, Psalm 107:41, Job 36:7, and Gen.26:12 15.
11. To foster networking between angel investors, mentors and start ups. Gen.13:1 8, Gen.36:7.
12. To assist subscribed members who are skilled to acquire work equipments via bank of industry or any other.
13. To operate business hub where skilled subscribed members can operate from.
14. To operate a follow up session for trainees after training.
15. To work towards future by building the capacity of young people using evidence-based approaches that will help them play their role effectively.
16. We facilitate the exercise of their capacity by providing the tools where possible knowledge, right policy, information, capabilities, and partnerships are in place, we believe that in the future we can see all these become a reality..

PARTNERSHIP & COLLABORATION: The Initiative collaborates with Organizations, Business Firms, Companies, Churches, and Government agencies, to carry out skillful programs, workshops, seminars and so on, to mitigate poverty in the society.
With the advent of the COVID-19 scourge ranging the world and causing economic havoc in societies, our newly developed program [Skill Acquisition, Entrepreneurship and Development Program,] that seeks to leverage on available resources presently exiting in the state that stands as a strong power index in poverty reduction and job creation with respect to our core values, requires your partnership towards implementation.
