Every conversation about hepatitis has the power to change a life.

This World Hepatitis Day, we join the global movement to breaking down the barriers to awareness, testing, prevention, treatment, and care for viral hepatitis.

At FAJIM Medicare Foundation, we believe that health education is one of the most powerful tools for prevention. That's why we continue to create opportunities for future healthcare professionals to transform knowledge into action by educating and empowering their communities.

This awareness video was developed by FAJIM Scholars as part of that commitment.

Watch. Learn. Share. Your voice could encourage someone to seek testing, get vaccinated where appropriate, or access the care they need.

💜 FAJIM Impact Stories

The impact of our work is best reflected in the voices of the communities we serve.

In our first FAJIM Impact Story, Chief Idowu Akinleye, the Olofin of Idofin and Mayegun of Iberekodo, Igboora, shares his reflections on FAJIM Medicare Foundation's commitment to providing free healthcare services and improving lives through community outreach.

His remarks come from our community medical outreach in partnership with the Igboora Progressive Union, where he also spoke about the Foundation's dedication to serving communities through accessible healthcare.

We remain grateful for the trust of our partners and communities as we continue working together to improve access to quality healthcare.

From FAJIM Scholar to Medical Doctor

Some journeys remind us why investing in people matters.

Today, we celebrate Dr. Abidemi Samson Olayiwola on his induction as a medical doctor.

Throughout his time as a FAJIM Scholar, Samson gave far more than his studies required. From volunteering at our medical outreaches to supporting community health education, he consistently embodied the leadership, compassion, and service our scholarship programme seeks to nurture.

Congratulations, Dr. Samson. We are proud to celebrate this milestone with you.

Your journey is a reminder of why we invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals. Every opportunity given today has the potential to improve countless lives tomorrow.

FAJIM Medicare Foundation was honoured to partner with the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences (FBCS), College of Medicine, University of Lagos, for the FBCS-CMUL Inaugural Conference 2026.

As part of the conference activities, FAJIM supported the Community Engagement and Medical Outreach programme, contributing screening equipment, test kits, trained volunteers, and healthcare personnel to support the delivery of free health services to community members.

Through this collaborative effort, over 300 individuals received health screenings, consultations, and health education aimed at promoting prevention, early detection, and healthier living.

We were particularly proud to see FAJIM Scholars volunteering alongside healthcare professionals and other volunteers, gaining hands-on experience while contributing meaningfully to community health.

This partnership was especially significant as the conference was organized by the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences under the leadership of Professor Fatimah Abdulkareem, Dean of the Faculty and Founder of FAJIM Medicare Foundation, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing healthcare, medical education, and community impact.

We also appreciate the support of Mushin Local Government, including the participation of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwa, whose presence underscored the importance of community-centered healthcare initiatives.

We thank all partners, volunteers, healthcare professionals, scholars, and community members who contributed to the success of the outreach.

Every number tells a story.

A patient who received care.

A student supported through their education.

A community with greater access to healthcare.

So far in 2026, FAJIM Medicare Foundation has continued to advance healthcare access and education through medical outreaches, scholarship support, and community health services for the people who need it most.

Behind every statistic is a person, a family, or a future made stronger through collective support.

To our donors, volunteers, healthcare professionals, partners, and supporters, thank you for making this work possible.

Last week, we celebrated four FAJIM alumni being inducted into the medical and dental professions.

Today, we are sharing a reflection from one of them.

Dr. Timilehin Israel Okunola reflects on his journey as a FAJIM Scholar and what the support meant beyond funding; mentorship, encouragement, and the reassurance of not walking alone.

What stood out most to us is his desire to give back and support future scholars. That kind of continuity is one of the most meaningful outcomes of this work.

We are grateful to have been part of his journey, and we look forward to all that lies ahead for him.

Thank you, Dr. Timilehin
