Tano does not just receive, she gives back in the most extraordinary ways.
Tano works as an AI and Data Engineer at Edge Innovative Technology a project management firm where she is already making her mark in the tech world. 💻

Beyond her career, Tano volunteers with Young Women Code teaching young girls about the different careers and opportunities available in tech. Because she knows firsthand what it means to have someone open a door for you. 💙

And when VOA calls Tano shows up. Every single time. Ready for whatever task is at hand.

But perhaps the most remarkable thing Tano is doing right now?

She is building the VOA app. Entirely by herself. 🔥

From scholarship beneficiary to the person building the tools that will power VOA’s future. Tano’s story is proof that when you invest in young people, they do not just grow. They give back in ways you never imagined. 💙

Tano, VOA is incredibly proud of you. Keep building. 🙌✨

Did you know? 💡🔬

Only 35% of Nigerian secondary school students have access to quality STEAM education.

That means 65% of young Nigerians are growing up without the science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics foundation they need to compete in a rapidly changing world.

At VOA, we believe that is not acceptable. And we are doing something about it. 💙

Through our STEAM Education programme, VOA is bringing quality learning, mentorship, and hands-on experiences directly to the students who need it most — because every young Nigerian deserves access to an education that can change the course of their life.

One student. One opportunity. One future at a time. 🌍

💙 Meet Victor Ishola VOA Volunteer & Mentor.

Some people show up when it is convenient. Victor shows up no matter what.

Victor is a results-driven IT leader with over 18 years of experience in IT modernization, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud migrations, and emerging technology across both the US private and public sector.

But what makes Victor truly remarkable is not his impressive career. It is his heart. 💙

Earlier this year, Victor had just come out of surgery. Most people would take that time to rest and no one would blame them.

Victor picked up the phone for his mentee.

He talked them through their anxiety. He asked the right questions. He stayed present. And he made sure they did not have to figure it out alone.

That is mentorship. That is VOA.

Victor, we see you. We are grateful for you. And we are so proud to have you on this team. 🙏✨

Want to become a VOA mentor like Victor? DM us or visit the link in our bio.

Did you know? 💡✈️

The world needs more pilots and most young people across Africa and the US have never been inside a cockpit.

That is not just an aviation gap. It is an access gap. A representation gap. A dream gap.

At VOA, we believe every young person regardless of where they are from deserves a seat at the table. And in the cockpit. 💙

This year, VOA sent students from our community to an intensive aviation camp in the United States — where they got hands-on experience with real aircraft, explored the science of flight, and discovered what it truly means to aim high. ✈️

One of those students was Teni. When we asked how she felt after her first flight experience, she said:

"I'm just happy I got to fly a plane. I hope I have a good take off and a good landing." ✈️

She got both. ✨

From Nigeria to the US and beyond — VOA is opening doors that were never meant to stay closed. One student. One camp. One dream at a time.
