MEET OUR PANELIST
Toyin Gbagi is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KPMG Nigeria and West Africa. She has about three decades of extensive experience in delivering audit, assurance, and advisory services across diverse industries. Prior to her current role, she was Partner and Head of Audit Consumer & Industrial Markets, and Head of People Strategy, leading strategic initiatives to attract and retain top talent. Well versed in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and multinational group reporting, Toyin has acted as Engagement Quality Control Reviewer and Quality Performance Reviewer across Africa, while also driving risk management procedures to uphold service quality.
Toyin is recognised for her contributions to the development of telecommunications accounting in Nigeria and served as the Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Accounting Standards Board Committee on Telecommunications activities. This committee, prior to the adoption of IFRS in Nigeria, developed the Nigerian Accounting Standard that governed the accounting for all telecommunications activities in Nigeria.
Toyin currently serves on the Board of KPMG West Africa and Co-Chairs Women Corporate Directors (WCD) in Nigeria, a dynamic community of support and expertise for women directors at the highest executive and board leadership levels. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria, and has attended various executive and leadership programmes, including the Harvard Business School.
