How Tech Transformed Tina's Business

A few years ago, Tina was just another local trader, selling handmade accessories at a small market in Lagos. She worked hard but struggled to grow beyond her immediate environment. With low foot traffic and no way to reach customers outside her city, her dream of building a sustainable business seemed impossible.

At Hi5 Women Development Centre, we believe that empowering women in technology is key to shaping a better tomorrow. That’s why we’re excited about TechHer – an initiative that provides 100 young women with valuable tech skills, mentorship, and career guidance.

Our mission is to help these young women break barriers in the tech world and take control of their futures. Whether it's landing a job, starting a business, or becoming a changemaker, we want them to thrive.

We are thrilled to announce that we have welcomed 14 dedicated individuals as our newest advocates! They joined us after successfully completing a rigorous selection process from over 100 initial applicants. Congratulations to each and every one of these inspiring women who have taken the first step towards becoming powerful advocates for sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR) and gender-based violence (GBV) to achieve Gender Equality.

Our new advocates aim to bring passionate commitment to ensuring equal access to quality healthcare and wellbeing services for all members of their communities. With their fresh perspectives and fierce determination, they stand ready to raise voices against harmful practices and promote positive change within their own networks. Through supportive mentorship programs and comprehensive training sessions, we also aim to empower our advocates with the knowledge and skills necessary to speak confidently, actively engage community partners, and drive progress in service provision throughout rural Nigeria.

Thank you, ladies, for joining us on this exciting journey. Let’s continue pushing boundaries together and transform the future for generations to come.
