SMEDAN free business registration for 250,000 Nigerian businesses A BIG WIN for us at the Institute for Free Market and Entrepreneurship West Africa.
Few weeks ago we conducted a research into challenges faced by Student owned businesses in Nigeria, our respondents pointed the cost of business registration as one of the major challenges facing them, through this findings we launched our Invisible Hand Campaign tagged “Your Business Your Identity” Advocacy campaign and educated the public about the need for formalization of their businesses.
Through funding from our donors we were able to organize a Pitch Competition to help register innovative,free market inclined businesses in Nigeria.
The new move by this government agency to register 250,000 Nigerian businesses is a testament to the impact of our advocacy.Advocacy backed by evidence can move mountains. With facts, action, and persistent advocacy, you can push government agencies to finally do what they were originally meant to do,serve the people.
Our project“Your Business, Your Identity” started with one simple idea,every entrepreneur deserves recognition, visibility, and access to opportunities.
Today, that vision is becoming reality.

This success is proof that research, facts, and consistent advocacy work. It shows that when citizens, organizations, and changemakers raise their voices with data and purpose, policy begins to shift.
