Many believers sincerely trust God’s promises, pray faithfully, and stand on His Word, yet they sometimes wonder why the expected results do not appear as quickly as they hoped. These moments can lead to discouragement or the mistaken conclusion that God has forgotten His promises. Scripture, however, reveals that God’s will and God’s timing always work together.
According to Apostle Joshua Selman, the issue is not that God’s Word lacks power, but that God’s purposes unfold within divinely appointed seasons. He explains that while a promise may genuinely reflect the will of God, its manifestation is often connected to God’s ordained timing. Drawing from Acts 2, he points out that the disciples gathered together many times, but the outpouring of the Holy Spirit occurred only when the day of Pentecost was fully come. Likewise, God established seasons from the very beginning of creation, demonstrating that His works unfold according to divine order.
The message emphasizes that believers must seek not only to know what God has promised but also when He intends to bring that promise to pass. Acting outside God’s appointed time can result in frustration, even when the desire itself is legitimate. Apostle Joshua Selman therefore encourages believers to remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to reveal both God’s will and His timing so that every step is taken in alignment with Heaven’s agenda.
INSIGHT
God’s delays are never expressions of forgetfulness or inability. Throughout Scripture, He often prepares people and circumstances simultaneously before fulfilling His promises. While believers naturally focus on the promise itself, God is also orchestrating events, developing character, and arranging situations that will serve His greater purpose when the appointed time arrives.
This perspective protects believers from both impatience and despair. Rather than forcing doors open through human effort, faith learns to walk in obedience while trusting God’s perfect schedule. Waiting on God’s timing is not passive resignation; it is active confidence that the God who made the promise also knows the best moment for its fulfillment.
APPLICATION
If you are believing God for something He has promised, continue to hold firmly to His Word while remaining sensitive to His leading. Resist the temptation to force outcomes through impatience. Instead, walk faithfully in the responsibilities of your present season, trusting that God’s timing is always as perfect as His promises.
