The Brave Reader Program is growing and so is our reach.

As part of our commitment to reaching more children, we extended the Brave Reader engagement to Soasobigi Village and carried out today’s reading session at Soasobigi Primary School. Today’s session was facilitated by Madam Mary, one of the dedicated teachers from the school, who guided and engaged the children throughout the reading activities.

It was amazing to see the children so actively involved and engaged in such a meaningful way, participating, listening, reading, and enjoying every moment of the session. Moments like these remind us why creating access to books and nurturing a love for reading in communities is so important.

One community at a time, one reader at a time, the journey continues.

Today’s spotlight reading gave one of our brave readers, Ishmael, the opportunity to share his understanding of the book Pete the Sheep written by and illustrated by . 📚🐑

It was inspiring to watch him express his thoughts and build confidence through reading and storytelling.

The Brave Reader continues to inspire more students to be bold, speak up, and believe in the power of their own voices.

and .t.a.c we believe that creating opportunities for learning also means caring for the overall wellbeing of every child. A nourished child is more likely to participate, engage, and thrive.

For many students books are still a luxury. Access to reading materials remains a challenge especially in hard-to-reach communities.

Through the Brave Reader Program in partnership with we are changing that story, one book, one student at a time.

By putting books directly into the hands of students who need them the most. We believe that every child deserves the chance to read, dream, and thrive.

As an organization that operates in Nigeria and works directly with children and vulnerable communities, we cannot remain silent in the face of the growing threats to child safety.

Every child deserves the freedom to learn, play, dream, and grow in a safe environment. No child should have to live in fear, and no family should endure the pain of having a child taken away from them.

Today, Umbrella for the African Child (UTAC) joins our voice with countless others across the country in calling for the immediate and safe rescue of all kidnapped children. We stand with affected families and reaffirm our commitment to advocating for the protection, dignity, and rights of every child.

No child should be left behind.

Today, we had an interesting and engaging reading session facilitated by Mr. Moses.

Using the local language, he connected with the students in a way that made the session both interactive and enjoyable. The children actively participated, and engaged confidently throughout the reading activities.

Sessions like these demonstrate the power of learning in a familiar language, helping students better understand stories, build confidence, and develop a love for reading.

We are grateful to Mr. Moses for his dedication and support in making today’s session a memorable one for the students.

Our shared goal with is simple but powerful to see more students in rural@areas have access to books they can call their own, safe spaces where they can read freely, and teachers who are ready to guide and support them through their learning journey.

For many of these students, a storybook is more than just pages. It is confidence. It is imagination. It is the opportunity to dream beyond their environment and believe in their potential.

Through the Brave Reader program, we are using stories to inspire learning, build confidence, strengthen reading culture, and create opportunities for students to grow academically and personally.

And this is only the beginning. We hope to continue getting more books into more communities, because every child deserves the chance to read, learn, and dream.

We would also like to appreciate and everyone who supported her in donating books to the Brave Reader Program at Namenboku Junior High School.

Today, we celebrate the dreams, laughter, strength, and endless potential of every child.

At Umbrella for the African Child (UTAC), Children’s Day is more than a celebration, it is a reminder of our shared responsibility to create a world where every child feels safe, valued, heard, and empowered to thrive.

Every child deserves access to education, opportunities, encouragement, and the freedom to dream beyond their circumstances.

To every child: keep believing in yourself. Your voice matters, your dreams are valid, and your future is important.

Happy Children’s Day from all of us at UTAC.

He engaged the students passionately, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere that encouraged participation, confidence, and learning among the children.

We are grateful for educators like Mr. Anthony who continue to support and inspire young readers through the Brave Reader Initiative. Every session brings us one step closer to building a stronger reading culture within our communities.
