Education is more than access to classrooms — it’s access to opportunity, confidence, and the future.

At Tech Big Sis Foundation, we’re intentional about using technology as a bridge, not a barrier. Through our initiatives, we introduce children to digital skills early and preparing them to thrive in tech especially in underserved communities.

Because when education is inclusive, practical, and future-focused, it doesn’t just change lives — it changes generations.

Happy International Day of Education.

Today, we celebrate every girl with a dream — the ones whose voices are often unheard, whose potential is sometimes unseen, and whose brilliance deserves to shine.

At Tech Big Sis Foundation, our mission has always been clear: to bridge gender gaps in technology by empowering girls with digital skills, mentorship, and opportunities to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

We believe that when girls are given access to technology, they don’t just learn how to code — they learn how to create, lead, and transform their communities. From classrooms in rural Nigeria to global innovation spaces, we are raising a generation of Afro-Tech Girls who are building Africa’s digital future with courage and creativity.

Through our Raising Afro-Tech Girls Movement (RAM) Initiative, we’re not just teaching girls to use technology — we’re helping them see themselves as innovators, data scientists, and leaders who can drive Africa’s growth story.

This year’s celebration reminds us that empowering girls is not charity — it’s strategy.

A girl empowered in tech today is a woman transforming Africa tomorrow.

Let’s keep raising the next generation of Africa’s Tech Giants.

Together, we can close the gender gap — one girl, one skill, one community at a time.

As Nigeria marks 65 years of independence, we at Tech Big Sis Foundation celebrate not just freedom, but the power of opportunity. True independence means ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has equal access to digital skills. Together, we are working to bridge the digital divide and raise a generation ready for the future.

Throwback to September 2024 when we walked into a low-cost school in Ojodu with computers in our hands and a dream in our hearts.

For many of the children, it was their first encounter with a computer. The curiosity in their eyes, the laughter at their first clicks, and the amazement as the screen came alive — those are moments we’ll never forget.

That day wasn’t just about teaching technology. It was about planting seeds of possibility, showing them that the digital world is not out of reach, and that they too deserve to be part of it.

At Tech Big Sis Foundation, these little beginnings remind us why we keep pushing — to bridge the digital divide, one child at a time. 💻✨

On the 3rd of July — exactly 10 days ago — the Tech Big Sis Foundation team were at Artdale School Lagos for our AI for Young Africans Initiative.

We introduced about 50 children to the world of Artificial Intelligence — some of them hearing the word “AI” for the very first time.

It was beautiful to watch.
Their eyes lit up with curiosity.
They asked questions. They imagined possibilities.
They saw technology not as something far away, but as something they could understand — something they could own.

We broke AI down in the simplest way possible. We used games, storytelling, and real-life examples they could relate to.
And in that moment, I was reminded again of why this work matters.

Our children are not too young.
They are not too far behind.
They are not too disconnected.

They are just waiting to be shown.

AI for Young Africans is not about overwhelming children with big words. It's about planting seeds — seeds of curiosity, confidence, and creativity. It’s about raising children who are not afraid of the future because they’ve been introduced to it early.

We are not just teaching tech.
We are building identity.
We are shaping mindsets.
We are unlocking dreams.

And this is just the beginning.

We’re coming for more schools.
More children.
More communities.

From Lagos to every corner of Africa — because every African child deserves a chance to be part of this future.

Let’s keep going.
Let’s keep sowing.
Let’s keep showing them that they too belong in AI.

On March 5th 2025 a bold vision was born - to teach Artificial Intelligence to African children.

What began as a spark has now evolved into a full-fledged initiative under the Tech Big Sis Foundation: AI for Young Africans.

At Tech Big Sis, we recognize that Africa stands at a crucial juncture. The world is accelerating toward a future powered by data, algorithms, and intelligent systems — yet millions of children across the continent are being left behind.

These children are not lacking in brilliance, curiosity, or creativity. They are full of potential — what they need is exposure, access, and opportunity.

Through AI for Young Africans, we are bridging the digital divide by introducing children—many for the very first time—to the world of Artificial Intelligence. This initiative goes beyond coding lessons or robotics demonstrations. It’s about empowering African children to understand, shape, and thrive in an AI-powered world.

We’re not just raising users of technology. We’re raising creators, problem-solvers, and ethical leaders who will drive innovation for Africa and the world.

This is our declaration:

✅ That African children belong in the digital future
✅ That they can do more than consume — they can create and lead
✅ That digital inequality must not limit their potential

From schools without computers to children who’ve never heard the term Artificial Intelligence, we are reaching them — one child, one classroom, one community at a time.

Because when we teach AI to a child in Africa, we’re not just sharing knowledge.
We’re shaping futures.
We’re shifting narratives.
We’re building a continent.

Let’s continue this journey — together. 💛

As part of our commitment to digital equity, in March, the Tech Big Sis Foundation launched an Artificial Intelligence awareness and training campaign titled “AI for Young Africans”. This AI-advocacy drive caters to children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 18.

This initiative is designed to introduce young learners to the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a fun, relatable, and age-appropriate manner. We aim to spark curiosity, debunk myths about technology, and help students discover how AI is shaping the future of work, learning, and problem-solving across every sector.

The objectives of the AI Drive include:

Introducing students to foundational concepts in Artificial Intelligence.

Showcasing real-life applications of AI that children can relate to.

Inspiring early interest in STEM and digital skills.

Equipping students with a future-ready mindset and raising awareness on ethical, responsible AI use.

Our research and field experience show that many African children are unaware of how AI is already impacting their lives. Early exposure to this knowledge helps position them to thrive in a fast-changing digital world.

We believe this program will greatly enrich African Children's learning experience and empower them with the confidence and curiosity to explore technology meaningfully.

Today, we at Tech Big Sis Foundation join the global community in celebrating International Girls in ICT Day. This year's theme, "Girls in ICT for Inclusive Digital Transformation," resonates deeply with our mission to empower young girls, especially from underserved communities, to harness the power of technology. As we champion inclusive digital transformation, we recognize the importance of empowering girls to shape the digital future.

Why This Matters:
Digital Access Gap: Globally, only 65% of women were online in 2024, compared to 70% of men—a disparity of 189 million more men online than women.

Representation in Tech: Women comprise just 27.6% of the global tech workforce.

Africa's ICT Workforce: In Africa, women make up only 20–30% of the ICT workforce, with even fewer in leadership roles.

Our Commitment:
At Tech Big Sis Foundation, we've witnessed firsthand the transformative power of technology in the hands of girls from underserved communities. Through our Raising Afro-Tech-Girls Movement (RAM), we’ll continue to:
Bridge the Digital Divide, one girl child at a time
Provide training in digital literacy and Artificial Intelligence.
Connect young girls with role models in the tech industry to inspire and guide their journeys.

Join Us:
Empowering girls in ICT isn't just about equity; it's about unlocking untapped potential. Bridging the digital gender gap could significantly boost global GDP and job creation.
Let's work together to create a future where every girl, regardless of her background, has the opportunity to thrive in ICT.
