INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CLEAN AIR FOR BLUE SKIES

Clean air starts with the choices we make every day.

Today, Angel Support Foundation (ASF) joins the world in commemorating the **International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies.

Through our Ecobrick Sanitation Hub Project, we are encouraging communities to collect and reuse plastic bottles instead of dumping or burning them.

ASF LAUNCHES ECO-BRICK SANITATION HUB PROJECT IN MAKURDI
Angel Support Foundation (ASF) officially launched the Eco-Brick Sanitation Hub Project in Makurdi, funded by the GEF Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) Nigeria through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The launch brought together government agencies, academic institutions, private-sector actors, waste management companies, development partners, communities, schools, market representatives, and other key stakeholders united by a shared commitment to addressing plastic waste and promoting improved, sustainable sanitation.

Through the project, PET plastic bottles will be transformed into eco-bricks for the construction of sanitation facilities**, turning a waste challenge into an opportunity for cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable communities.

The project will support:

- Plastic waste collection and reuse
- Eco-brick production
- Construction of sanitation facilities
- Women and youth capacity building
- School and community engagement
- Environmental awareness and action

With the commitment and collaboration of government institutions, academia, the private sector, waste management companies, communities, schools, markets, development partners, and other stakeholders, ASF is taking practical steps toward reducing plastic pollution, promoting responsible waste management and improving access to sustainable sanitation.

Together, we can turn waste into resources and build a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable future.💚🌍

This International Youth Day, we recognize that young people are not just leaders of tomorrow they are changemakers today.

ANGEL SUPPORT FOUNDATION SHOWCASES NIGERIA'S ECO-BRICK INNOVATION IN CHINA

Angel Support Foundation (ASF), represented by our Founder/CEO, was honoured to participate in the Global Plastics Innovation Workshop and Exhibition, held from 23–26 June 2026 in Shenzhen, China, under the UNDP Global Plastics Innovation Programme (GPIP), supported by the United Nations Peace and Development Fund (UNPDF).
The workshop convened innovators, policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs and development practitioners from China, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tunisia and Viet Nam to share innovative solutions, strengthen partnerships and advance the transition to a circular plastics economy.

ASF proudly showcased the Eco-Brick Sanitation Hub Project, an innovative initiative transforming discarded PET plastic bottles into safe, durable and climate-resilient sanitation facilities. The project will construct eco-brick toilets in five schools and five communities in Makurdi, Benue State, addressing two critical challenges simultaneously: plastic pollution and inadequate sanitation.

Throughout the workshop, we gained valuable knowledge on:

💡 Emerging technologies for plastic waste management

The experience has strengthened ASF's commitment to delivering locally led, community-driven solutions that create lasting environmental and social impact across Nigeria.
