Today, we honour every humanitarian who continues to show up—often quietly, often at great personal cost—to protect lives, restore dignity, bring comfort, and remind vulnerable people that they are not forgotten.

Being a humanitarian is what we do.
Having humanity at heart is who we are.

Happy World Humanitarian Day to everyone who chooses compassion, courage and humanity. ❤️

SIGHTS FROM THE HUMANITARIAN ACCESS SEVERITY MAPPING EXERCISE EGI PARTICIPATED ON 10TH AUGUST

The Humanitarian Access Severity Mapping Exercise took place in Yola, hosted by the International Rescue Committee (IRC). The activity provided useful information for the second quarter of 2026 humanitarian access situation in the targeted locations of Adamawa, and North East.

While access remains possible in many areas, certain security, physical, logistical, and environmental factors continues to affect the ability of humanitarian actors to reach vulnerable populations effectively and safely.

Findings from the exercise which EVERY GIRL Initiative - EGi participated in contributed to an improved humanitarian planning, risk management, coordination, and decision-making, particularly in relation to safe and effective access to affected
Challenges

The exercise provided an opportunity to gather information from relevant Humanitarian Organisations regarding the accessibility of humanitarian assistance, existing challenges, and the security and operational conditions affecting humanitarian activities in the 21 Local Government Area in Adamawa State for the second quarter ( April – June) of 2026

It was "Exams O'Clock" and our women participants "Clocked it" at the Community Gender School of Women (CGSW).

After four months in the community classroom and an intensive lessons on basic numeracy and Literacy, results from the concluding exams showed that it was worth the effort.

Under our Community Gender School of Women (CGSW), we are empowering adult women (without prior formal education) with functional basic education classes, that integrates Literacy, Numeracy, as well as livelihood skills and sexual reproductive health classes - while also integrating feminist principles and actions.
