📚 Holiday IQ Boost Plan for Parents
Hosi Good Foundation Schools
Dear Parents,
The holiday season is a wonderful time for rest, family bonding, and fun — but it’s also a great opportunity to sharpen your child’s mind! Here’s a simple Holiday IQ Boost Plan to help your child grow academically, socially, and mentally during the break.
1️⃣ Daily Reading Time (20–30 minutes)
Provide age-appropriate storybooks, newspapers, or educational magazines.
Encourage reading aloud to improve vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension.
2️⃣ Brain Workout Games
Introduce puzzles, Sudoku, crosswords, scrabble, and chess.
Play memory games together to boost recall speed and logical thinking.
3️⃣ Educational Screen Time
Allow limited, supervised time for educational apps, documentaries, or learning videos (math drills, science experiments, history stories).
Avoid excessive entertainment screen time.
4️⃣ Creative Expression Hour
Encourage drawing, painting, storytelling, or simple crafts.
Let them write short stories or keep a holiday diary to enhance imagination and writing skills.
5️⃣ Mental Math Challenge
Set daily mental math tasks (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication in the head).
Use real-life scenarios — shopping, cooking measurements, or travel distances — to make learning fun.
6️⃣ Outdoor Learning & Physical Activity
Take nature walks, visit museums, or explore new places.
Engage in sports to keep them active and improve coordination.
7️⃣ Chore & Responsibility Skills
Involve them in light home chores — setting the table, organizing shelves, watering plants.
Teach responsibility, teamwork, and self-confidence.
8️⃣ Family Discussion Time
Discuss daily events, moral lessons, and problem-solving ideas during meals.
Encourage them to share opinions and listen respectfully to others.
✅ Tip: Consistency is key! Even 1–2 hours of focused activities daily can make a huge difference in your child’s IQ and character development.
Let’s work together to make this holiday a season of growth! 💡🎯
