INTER SCHOOLS ACADEMIC COMPETITION 2026 FOR PUBLIC AND PRIVATESCHOOLS IN SHIRORO (FIRST EDITION)
General Overview
The Obah Foundation Inter-School Academic Competition is the first edition of what is to become an annual event. It is an educational initiative designed to promote academic excellence, healthy competition, critical thinking, confidence, creativity, and intellectual development among pupils and students.
The competition will feature engaging academic disciplines and activities including Spelling Bee, Debate, Paper Presentation and other academic challenges, providing participants with opportunities to demonstrate not only what they have learned in the classroom but also their ability to think critically, communicate effectively, solve problems and perform under pressure.
Beyond identifying and rewarding outstanding students, the competition seeks to encourage schools to strengthen their academic culture, motivate learners to pursue excellence, and create meaningful interaction and knowledge-sharing among participating schools.
Eligibility
1. Participation is open to duly registered public and private schools across Shiroro Local Government.
2. Only Schools through a staff representative can register one student or pupils for each competition category.
Competition Timeline
- Registration Begins On Monday 17th August 2026.
- Registration Closes On Friday 4th September 2026
- The Competiton Begins on Wednesday 16th September 2026 (Program Lunches across Various venues within Shiroro)
- Competition Finals & Awarding Ceremony to happen Saturday 3 October 2026.
Purpose
Ultimately, the Obah Foundation Inter-School Academic Competition seeks to discover, inspire and celebrate the next generation of academically talented young Nigerians, while contributing to a stronger culture of learning, excellence and intellectual development across participating schools.
