THE IJAWS AND URHOBOS LOST A TOTAL OF 6 CASE AT THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN WARRI, WHILE THE URHOBOS WAS FINED 500,000 AS THEY LOST FOR THE ABUSE OF COURT PROCESS

3. FHC/WR/CS/51/2025 MR. CLEMENT TEKEDOR & Ors vs INEC filed by the Ijaws, dismissed, they lost

4. FHC/WR/CS/33/23 Chief Monday keme V. INEC filed by the Ijaws, dismissed, they lost

5. FHC/WR/CS/31/2026 Chief Westham Adehor &5 ors Vs.INEC&ors filed by the Urhobos, dismissed , they lost

6. FHC/WR/CS/75/2025 Chief Lucky Oromoni &3 ors Vs INEC- filed by the Ijaws , dismissed, they lost

There is therefore no further excuse on INEC to continue with the fake illegal and fraudulent ward delineation proposal but for them to do the needful by deleanating properly in line with the rule of law.

His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, today delivered a keynote address at the African Young Leaders’ Convergence, an event of the 2nd Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium in honour of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio as he celebrates his birthday in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Addressing an audience comprising national leaders, policymakers, students, emerging African changemakers and other young African minds, His Majesty spoke on the urgent need for stronger leadership cultures, institutional thinking, and deliberate investment in Africa’s growing youth population.

The convening brought together distinguished continental voices, including Rt. Hon. Patricia Scotland, former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth; Her Excellency Dr Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone; and Honourable Ibrahim Sannoh, Minister of Youth Affairs, around a shared commitment to governance, innovation, and Africa’s long-term development.

In his remarks, His Majesty challenged young Africans to approach leadership with discipline, responsibility, and vision, while calling on governments and institutions to build systems that expand opportunity, strengthen participation, and prepare the continent for sustainable growth and influence.

As Sierra Leone marks the birthday of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio today, the colloquium also reflects his continued investment in youth engagement and pan-African leadership dialogue.

Koko Agog As Itsekiri Grassroot Coalition, Warri North Inaugurates LGA Executives, Endorses Hon. Michael Diden for Delta South Senate

Koko, the headquarters of Warri North, was thrown into excitement as Itsekiri Grassroot Coalition (IGC), Warri North Chapter, officially inaugurated its Local Government Area executives and endorsed Michael Diden as aspirant for the Delta South Senatorial District ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The event, which held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, attracted a mammoth crowd comprising community leaders, youth representatives, women groups, political associates, and grassroots mobilizers from different parts of Warri North and beyond.

In a remarkable show of compassion and grassroots connection, Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, National Coordinator of IGC, empowered elderly women, breastfeeding mothers, pregnant women, and physically challenged persons with cash gifts during the inauguration ceremony and endorsement rally for the Ejele Campaign Network.

The event also witnessed the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the gathering, members of the coalition emphasized that the Itsekiri Grassroot Coalition, Warri North Chapter, remains committed to supporting Itsekiri aspirants with proven records of progressive leadership, while also supporting leaders and political actors who demonstrate genuine commitment toward the development and unity of the Itsekiri people.

Participants who correctly answered questions related to the coalition and the newly endorsed senatorial aspirant received gifts, while financial support was also extended to nursing mothers, pregnant women, elderly persons, and physically challenged individuals present at the occasion.

A court sitting in Effurun has ordered VeryDarkMan to pay Mrs. Joloff ₦30.5 million after losing a defamatory action instituted against him.

In the judgement read, Hon. Justice R.D Harriman held that the words published by VDM against Mr. Joloff and his wife were defamatory and unjustifiable.

The court held that VDM was unable to justify the allegation of adultery and other allegations made against Mr. Jollof and his wife.

Deji Adeyanju represented VDM in the suit. The court ordered VDM to tender an apology to the claimants within 14 days in national dailies.

His Majesty Ògíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III, CFR, the Olú of Warri, yesterday, April 23, 2026, arrived at Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi, marking his second historic visit to the Ashanti Kingdom.

His Majesty’s visit forms part of his participation in activities commemorating the 27th anniversary of the enstoolment of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as well as the unveiling of the Otumfuo Commemorative Gold Coin Box.

Accompanying His Majesty is Her Majesty Olori Atúwàtse III, Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom, alongside distinguished chiefs of the kingdom. Their presence underscores the enduring bond of respect, unity, and shared heritage between the Warri Kingdom and the Ashanti Kingdom.

ALLEGED POLICE CHASE LEAVES BOY DEAD, RESIDENTS PROTEST IN UBEJI-EGBOKODO ROAD

A young boy has reportedly been found dead in a River along Egbokodo Ubeji Road on Tuesday after an alleged chase by police officers.

According to residents, the boy was pursued by officers before the incident that led to his death. His body was later discovered, triggering outrage among community members.

In reaction, residents have taken to the streets in protest and are reportedly heading toward the police station to demand answers over the incident.

The exact circumstances surrounding the boy’s death remain unclear as authorities are yet to issue an official statement at the time of this report.
