πŸ’œ WHAT A DAY! THANK YOU FOR CELEBRATING WITH US

On Monday, 23rd March 2026, the Centre for Gender Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, marked International Women's Day with a spectacular Purple Party and what a day it was! πŸŽ‰

Held at the PG School Hall, the event brought together students, staff, and distinguished guests under the theme:

"Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls."

We were deeply honored to have our royal father, the Emir of Keffi, ably represented by the Wambai of Keffi, whose presence added great dignity and significance to the occasion.

We were also privileged to welcome the Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Prof. Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, whose presence demonstrated the University's strong commitment to gender equality and student empowerment.

Additionally, we hosted Hon. Halima Ahmadu Jabiru, Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission, for a powerful Fireside Chat & Mentorship Session. Her words inspired, challenged, and reminded us of the work ahead.

The room was filled with energy, purpose, and of course; beautiful shades of purple! πŸ’œ

Thank you to everyone who came, shared, and celebrated with us. Special appreciation to our partners, speakers, and the incredible team behind the scenes.

Thank you to our dear Director, Dr. Comfort Adokwe for pulling off this great event.

Together, we continue to build a campus where every woman is valued, every voice is heard, and every girl knows her future matters.

🌟 CELEBRATING A LEADER, A MENTOR, AN INSPIRATION

Some people lead with titles. Others lead with impact.

Dr. Comfort Adokwe-Obed leads with both, and so much more.

As the Ag. Director of the Centre for Gender Studies, NSUK, she has:

βœ… Championed conversations on men's mental health
βœ… Strengthened support systems for survivors of harassment
βœ… Built partnerships that amplify our work
βœ… Created a safe space for every student; male and female

Today, we celebrate not just her birthday, but the incredible woman she is.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Comfort! πŸ’œ

Drop a πŸ’œ in the comments to wish her well!

COURTESY VISIT TO HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, THE EMIR OF KEFFI

Our Director, Dr. Comfort Adokwe-Obed, alongside the Deputy Director (Academics) and Director of Programmes, paid a familiarisation visit to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Keffi.

Why?

Because the work we do; promoting gender equality, supporting survivors of violence, and building leaders, cannot succeed without the support and blessings of our traditional institutions.

His Royal Highness received us warmly and shared valuable insights on how the Centre can better serve the Keffi community.

We left inspired and even more committed to our mission.

Thank you, Your Royal Highness, for your wisdom and hospitality. πŸ’™πŸ’œ

She Gives. She Grows. She Gains.

To every woman who rises,
even on the days it feels heavy.
To every woman who dreams,
who builds, who leads, who evolves.

To every woman whose quiet sacrifices
create lasting impact and meaningful change.
We see you.
We honour you.
We celebrate you.

You embody the spirit of Give to Gain - because every seed you plant grows into influence, impact, and inspiration for families and communities. We celebrate you all.

Happy International Women's Day .

πŸ“± REPORT HARASSMENT SAFELY & CONFIDENTIALLY WITH THE CAMPUSPAL APP

Attention NSUK students! Your safety is our priority. πŸ›‘οΈ

During yesterday's orientation for 100-level students, the Centre for Gender Studies, in collaboration with Gender Mobile, introduced the CampusPal App; a confidential platform designed specifically for you.

What is CampusPal?
It is a mobile app available on Android and iOS that allows you to report any form of sexual harassment or gender-based violence safely and anonymously.

Who can you report?
βœ… Lecturers
βœ… Fellow students/colleagues
βœ… Friends or acquaintances
βœ… Anyone off campus

What can you report?
Sexual harassment includes any unwanted behavior of a sexual nature that makes your environment uncomfortable:

Β· Unwanted touching
Β· Sexually suggestive comments
Β· Inappropriate looks or gestures
Β· R**e or assault
Β· Any form of gender-based violence

How does it work?
1️⃣ Download the CampusPal app from Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iPhone)
2️⃣ Register using your student email
3️⃣ An OTP will be sent to your email (check spam folder if you don't see it immediately)
4️⃣ Log in with your department, faculty, and university details
5️⃣ Submit your report; you can do this anonymously

What happens after you report?
βœ… Your identity remains confidential
βœ… The Centre for Gender Studies receives your report
βœ… A dedicated committee investigates
βœ… You can track your report progress on the app (pending, in progress, completed)

You are not alone.

Whether you are a victim or a bystander who witnessed something, you can speak up. Your report will be investigated, and adequate action will be taken.

Download CampusPal today. Your voice matters. Your safety matters.
