Yesterday, Tuesday 25th June, 2024. On behalf of Youth Initiative Forum Against Drug Abuse and Human Trafficking - Yifdat We are in Daura Town of Katsina State, as part of the activities of Commemoration International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT 2024), for Street Advocacy Program.

The Event, Organised by Office of the Special Adviser on Drugs, Narcotics, and Human Trafficking to the Katsina State Government, in Collaboration with NDLEA Katsina State Command, in partnership with Anti Drug Campaign Network, and other Partners.

The campaign is focused on educating the public about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention. We will be sharing insightful messages, hosting discussions, and engaging with Stakeholders, Traditional Rulers, Civil Society Organizations, Government, and Non-governmental Organization.

Base on the theme for this year, “The Evidence is Clear; Invest in Prevention,” rest assured, by investing in prevention, we can protect our youth srengthen our communities, and build a healthier future. I encourage everyone to get involved, spread the message, and support this crucial cause.

...Yes to Life, No To Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking!

Today, Monday 24th June, 2024. Youth Initiative Forum Against Drug Abuse and Human Trafficking - Yifdat, in collaboration with NDLEA Katsina State Command, supported by Ideas and Data Global Academy and other Partners, we organized a Street Advocacy Program aimed at increasing public awareness, educating the community, and empowering youth to take active roles in combating drug abuse and human trafficking.

Drug abuse and illicit trafficking are serious issues that endanger the health, safety, and future of our communities. This week, we come together to raise awareness, educate, and take proactive steps towards prevention. With the Theme for this year, “The Evidence is Clear; Invest in Prevention,”

Our campaign is focused on educating the public about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention. We will be sharing insightful messages, hosting discussions, and engaging with local leaders and youth to build a community of informed and empowered individuals.

By investing in prevention, we can protect our youth, strengthen our communities, and build a healthier future. I encourage everyone to get involved, spread the message, and support this crucial cause.

...Let's Promote a Drug-Free Community!

Yesterday, We had a very fruitful discussion with Founder, Ideas and Data Global Academy, and Data Global Academy Sir, Mustapha Shehu PhD, in preparation for an upcoming event, The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, organisedYouth Initiative Forum Against Drugs Abuse and Human Trafficking (YIFDAT).

Our discussion centred is to request a partnership with Ideas and Data Global Academy, for an upcoming event. The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT 2024), with the theme: "The Evidence is Clear: INVEST IN PREVENTION".

The event observed annually on 26th June, is a significant occasion for raising awareness about these critical issue's, in Commemoration of the Day.

Many people do not understand why people become addicted to drugs or how drugs change the brain to foster compulsive drug abuse.

They mistakenly view drug abuse and addiction as strictly a social problem and may characterize those who take drugs as morally weak.

One very common belief is that drug abusers should be able to just stop taking drugs if they are only willing to change their behaviour.

Dangers of Taking Drugs Without the Prescription of a Doctor/Physician is down trouding the image of our youths, and it kills the future of our future citizens' generations.

The Youth Initiative Forum Against Drug Abuse and Human Trafficking - Yifdat We are organizing a Street Advocacy Program, aimed at increasing Public Awareness, Educating the Community, and Empowering Youth to take active roles in combating Drug Abuse and illicit trafficking.

Yesterday, it was a great pleasure to held our School-Based advocacy program aimed to educate and empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize the signs of drug abuse and human trafficking.

Drugs Abuse simply means illegal use of drugs by the people without prescription by Doctor, Drugs Abuse can be mitigate or manage by the use of creating the awareness on the implications of drugs abuse on health and the livelihood, such as drugs abuse implications campaign from the primary schools to tertiary level in order to sensitized people on effects of drugs.

The Topics such as Understanding the signs of Drug Abuse and Human Trafficking, Usman Hussaini Rafukka, and Effect of drug abuse to the Youth and society by Abdul Ahad Musa, and Addressing the root causes of human trafficking within our communities by Maryam Hamisu Ibrahim, were discussed.

I would like to place my hearty thanks to the entire members of Youth Initiative Forum Against Drugs Abuse and Human Trafficking (YIFDAT), especially Our great Lead Convener, Yahanasu Muazu and Abba Darma, Yahaya Saidu Lugga, Sanusi Abdul Sule, imam ismail ameh󱢏, Abba Iyal, Abubakar Nasiru, Abba Lawal, and the ones I didn't mention, because of whom we made this program possible. Thank you all!

16th May, 2024.

A 2-Days Training of 180 Teachers, Students, and Establishment of Anti-Drugs, Anti-Corruption, and Hygiene Committees in 36 selected Secondary Schools in Katsina, organized by Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), in collaboration with Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Katsina State.

Alot of activities that cut across presentations, Education and enlightenment of the participants on the dangers of substance use, and it's provides knowledge necessary to avoid risky situations and information to make healthier personal choices. and then further use what they learn to develop their Schools and Communities.

On behalf of Youth Initiative Forum Against Drugs Abuse and Human Trafficking (YIFDAT), we're very glad to be part of this initiatives, and Thank you so much for the invitation.

03th May, 2024.

Yesterday, it was a pleasure to pay a courtesy visit to the Commander, NDLEA Katsina State Command, in His Office. Looking forward to strengthening the existing relationship between the Command and the Organization.

The campaign aims to tackle the alarming Drugs Abuse and Human Trafficking, and to pull the attention of strategic influencers and stakeholders to the extent of the alarming damage and the tract Drugs Abuse and Human Trafficking poses on the future of our State.

Visitation of well-known motor parks where drug abuse and human trafficking is rampant, and visitation of well-known motor parks where drug abuse and human trafficking is rampant.

Partaking in sensitization and awareness campaign programs in schools of middle and high aged focusing primarily on at risk non drug misusers and occasional misusers.

And also, We discussed many issues and the way forward against Drug Abuse across the State to change the situation in our communities and truly support the health and wellbeing of our peers.

The entire members of Youth Initiative Forum Against Drugs Abuse and Human Trafficking (YIFDAT), we're very grateful to have this opportunity given to us. Thank you once again.
