🚨 Stop TVET Extortion in Polytechnics!

TVET was meant to empower youth & women, not to push students out of school. In some Northern polytechnics, management has made TVET compulsory with extra fees apart from school fees. Many students are dropping out because they can’t afford both.

Education is a right, not a privilege. Government initiatives should remove barriers, not create them.

✊ Let TVET be a tool for empowerment, not exclusion. Stop the extortion. Protect the future of our youth.

πŸ˜₯It is heartbreaking that, by now, Nigerians have still not outgrown this needless Christian–Muslim rivalry. One would think we would have learned to stand together; united against poor leadership and the systems that keep failing us. Instead, it often feels as though our minds have been overtaken by ethnic and religious bigotry, even among the so-called educated. ESPECIALLY AMONG THE SO-CALLED EDUCATED opinion leaders.

You see, until we choose to see the real issue, that while we argue among ourselves, our leaders continue to feast on our struggles nothing will truly change.

Until we admit that we, the everyday Nigerians, are both the victims and the enablers of blind loyalty and divided thinking, fueling our leader's irresponsibility, we will remain trapped in this cycle.

Until we begin to say, and truly live by the principle of humanity first, and humanity above everything else-then perhaps we would be honest with ourselves about what we are doing.

Until then, what we call activism may remain little more than performance, loud in words but empty in action.

A Call to Action: Empowering Our Community through Informed Choices.

Dear brothers and sisters,

As the 2027 general election approaches, we must recognize the pivotal role we play in shaping the future of our communities. As youth and women, we are the backbone of society, and it is imperative that we rise with intention, courage, and wisdom.

Our vote is our voice, our power, and our future. Let us not trade it for money, gifts or empty promises. Selling our votes is selling our tomorrow. We must reject electoral malpractices and uphold integrity in all our actions.

Let us stand firm for fairness, justice and peace. We will not participate in rigging, manipulation or any act that undermines democracy. We will resist electoral violence and promote peaceful participation.

We must be vigilant and not allow ourselves to be manipulated by politicians who seek power at all costs. Instead, let us choose leaders who prioritize development, education, health, and the well-being of all.

It is time to be intentional. Let us ask ourselves "Who will represent us with honesty? Who will lead us with vision?" Let us vote for competence, character and commitment to the people.

Youth and women, the destiny of our land is in our hands. Let us stand tall, united and committed to truth. Let our vote be a weapon for progress, not a tool for oppression.

The time is now. The power is ours. Let us use it wisely.
