Research suggests that Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in northern Nigeria is around a disturbing 50 to 65%. This means 5 to 7 in every 10 people you meet are likely to have suffered GBV.
In November 26, 2020, Lifeline Initiatives for Widows Empowerment and Economic Development's team and women/girls across 8 local government areas of Kano state joined held a 16-day activism/campaign against gender-based violence, particularly violence against women and girl-children.
It included rallies, presentations, and drama. We visited key offices in the state and enlighten over 800 women and girl children on violence against women and girl-children.
