NAKSS NATIONAL BODY MOURNS THE LOSS OF A GREAT STUDENT LEADER, COMRADE HUZAIFA SABO GWALE

The National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS), National Body, received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Comrade Huzaifa Sabo Gwale, a distinguished student leader from Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, and former Deputy Senate President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

His death is a painful loss to the Kano State student community, the Nigerian student movement and the entire Comrade community. His commitment to student leadership and service will remain fondly remembered by those who knew and worked with him.

On behalf of the NAKSS National Body, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, associates and the entire Comrade community. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

May Allah grant his family and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this great loss.

NAKSS Appeals for the Implementation of the Veterinary Medicine Bonding Programme

The National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS) respectfully appeals to the Kano State Government to fulfil its commitment to the Veterinary Medicine Bonding Programme for eligible Kano State students studying Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).

During an official visit by a NAKSS National delegation to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria Chapter, the Association received complaints from the Chapter leadership over the delay in implementing the programme. The students expressed hope that the government’s promise would be fulfilled, as it would ease their academic journey and encourage them to return home to serve the State after graduation.

NAKSS appreciates the commitment of the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency,Abba Kabir Yusuf, to the development of education and the welfare of students. The Association therefore humbly calls on the Government, through the Ministry of Livestock Development and other relevant agencies, to take the necessary steps to implement the programme as promised.

The Association remains committed to constructive engagement with the Government and will continue to advocate for the welfare and educational interests of Kano State students across the country.

OFFICIAL NOTICE TO ALL KANO STATE STUDENTS

The National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS) National Body remains committed to promoting the interests, welfare, and educational advancement of Kano State students.

Following extensive consultations and a careful assessment of the educational policies and interventions of the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the National Leadership of NAKSS has commenced consultations toward an official endorsement for a second term in office.

This initiative is driven by our recognition of the administration’s efforts in strengthening the education sector through increased investment in education, scholarship programmes, improved educational infrastructure, teacher recruitment, and other student-focused policies.

We call on all Kano State students, chapter executives, and stakeholders to continue supporting this process with unity, mutual respect, and constructive engagement as we work together to advance the educational interests of our state.

Together, we can sustain the progress of education and youth development in Kano State.

NAKSS ENGAGES KANGIS DG, STRENGTHENS TIES WITH KANO GOVERNMENT FOR STUDENT WELFARE

The National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS) today paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Director General of the Kano Geographic Information System (KANGIS), Dr. Dalhatu Aliyu Sani, as part of its commitment to advancing the welfare and development of Kano State students.

The visit created an atmosphere of constructive engagement, where discussions centered on building a stronger and more inclusive relationship between the Kano State Government and NAKSS, with emphasis on youth empowerment, leadership development, and student welfare across Kano State.

In his remarks, the Director General warmly received the delegation and reaffirmed his readiness to support initiatives that promote the growth and well-being of students. He pledged his continuous support in ensuring that Kano State students are carried along in the developmental strides of the state.

The leadership of NAKSS described the meeting as fruitful and forward-looking, noting that it reflects a shared vision of building responsible future leaders through collaboration and government support.

NAKSS Applauds Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Bold Support for Kano Students

The National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS National Body) sincerely commends His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his outstanding and people-centered intervention in support of Kano students.

As disclosed by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr Ali Haruna Makoda, over 130,707 students—representing more than 95% of candidates—have qualified for full government sponsorship. These students will also sit for the National Examinations Council examination free of charge, with the government covering all expenses.

This commendable effort has greatly reduced the burden on parents and demonstrated a strong commitment to the future of education in Kano State.

While appreciating this laudable gesture, NAKSS respectfully appeals to His Excellency to consider the provision of bursary support for Kano State students in higher institutions, to further ease their financial challenges and sustain their academic pursuits.

NAKSS remains grateful and fully supportive of this impactful leadership.
